Jesse Tyler Ferguson shows his support for TV daughter Aubrey Anderson-Emmons at her high school play: ‘You make a pretend papa proud’

Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his on-screen daughter enjoyed a sweet reunion on Thursday.

The actor, who recently reunited with friends Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara, attended Modern Family co-star Aubrey Anderson-Emmons’ high school play in Los Angeles.

The 16-year-old starred in her high school production of The Burn.

The production focuses on a high school production of The Crucible, a story set during the time of the Salem witch trials.

But the plot ultimately explores what happens when a teacher and his students experience a conflict that turns into an online witch hunt.

Jesse, 48, shared a photo of himself and Aubrey on social media, alongside a post glowing with fatherly pride.

“It’s crazy to think Aubrey was only a few months older than Beckett when I met her!”

‘Look at her now!!! Congratulations, Aubri! You were SO amazing! Love you! You make a pretend dad proud

The young star shared her own modest: “Guess who came to the school play?” comment on her own Instagram page.

Aubrey played Lily Tucker-Pritchett, the adopted daughter of Jesse’s Mitchell Pritchett and Eric Stonestreet’s Cameron Tucker.

She joined the cast in season three and remained with the show until its finale in 2020.

Since then, Aubrey has taken a break from professional acting, but has made her mark in school plays and as a musician in the band October.

It was working with Aubrey and the other young actors of Modern Family that led Jesse to consider fatherhood.

“Working with kids on set and being with them for six years now and seeing them go through their formative years has been a real eye-opener.”

‘It is awesome. It definitely fueled my desire to be a father,” he said People in 2015.

He has since welcomed sons Beckett, born in 2020, and Louis, born in 2022, with husband Justin Mikita.
