Jesse Baird’s housemates are said to be planning to leave the small Sydney terrace where he and his friend Luke Davies were allegedly murdered, wrapped in a tarpaulin and left in the limestone-clad courtyard overnight.

Beau Lamarre-Condon, who previously had a ‘friends with benefits’ arrangement with Mr Baird before the Studio 10 presenter ended things in November, is alleged to have used his police-issued Glock pistol to kill the couple three shot at the rental house in Paddington around 6 p.m. Monday, February 19, 9:50 am.

He then allegedly placed the bodies in the courtyard, covered them with a tarpaulin and used Mr Baird’s phone to tell his two housemates that he was moving to Perth and asked if they could leave his belongings on the nature strip in front leave behind.

The housemates returned to the property later on Monday to find the place in disarray. They then went to bed, with Mr Baird and his friend dead outside, 7News reported.

The three-bedroom terrace was rented last April for $1,200 per week and, according to the online listing, has a “northeast-facing limestone-clad courtyard” and is “ideal for entertaining.”

The bodies of Jesse Baird and his friend Luke Davies were said to have been wrapped in a tarpaulin and placed in the courtyard of the Paddington terrace that Mr Baird rented with two housemates.

The courtyard opens at the rear of the property via a roller door and could double as a carport, but it is a small space and can barely fit one vehicle.

Daily Mail Australia understands Mr Baird’s housemates have already applied to move into another rental property following the tragedy, and may have ended the lease on the Paddington house a few months earlier.

Deputy Commissioner Michael Fitzgerald said on Wednesday that Lamarre-Condon did not expect to find Mr Davies in the house when he arrived.

“We will vigorously argue in our case that this murder was premeditated and that the second murder occurred because of, unfortunately, Luke’s presence in the home,” he told 9News.

Lamarre-Condon had originally purchased one surfboard bag from a shop in Miranda, about 12 miles south of Paddington, two days before the alleged murders.

Police allege he bought it with the intention of hiding Mr Baird’s body, but one bag was not enough.

Mr Fitzgerald said: ‘After the incidents he went back and bought another surfboard cover.’

He is said to have rented a white Toyota HiAce van and moved the bodies the next day, Tuesday, February 20, to a property in Bungonia, about 180km southwest of Sydney.

The bodies are believed to have been buried in a shallow grave on the fence line of a property on Jerrara Road. Police discovered the remains on Tuesday, February 27.

Earlier on Thursday, it was revealed in court that Lamarre-Condon allegedly used bullets stolen from a shooting range to load the gun.

He is said to have checked his gun into Balmain police station, where he worked as a senior constable, after the alleged murders – with the magazine full, as if no shots had been fired.

In the days after the tragedy, friends and passers-by left bouquets of flowers on Paddington’s terrace.

Sunflowers, roses, dahlias, chrysanthemums and tulips were placed along the property’s iron gates in scenes reminiscent of the mounds of flowers left in public places after Princess Diana’s death.

Lamarre-Condon has been charged with two counts of murder and will appear in court at a later date.

He has since been fired from the police.
