Following her glorious performance, England’s Red Roses battled it out on the pitch in an attempt to take home the title.

Only France stands between John Mitchell’s side and another win in the Championship, but the reality is that England should have too much for Les Bleus.

The Red Roses are flourishing on the field. In addition, they are determined to use their growing platform to increase interest and develop the women’s game before England hosts the Women’s World Cup in 2025.

Ahead of this Six Nations, England players took part in a lifestyle photo shoot with the aim of bringing women’s rugby to a new audience. They certainly do.

‘I am very creative off the field and I hope that also shows on the field. I try to find happiness in everything I do,” says superstar fullback Ellie Kilnauw, summing up the growing strength of women’s rugby.

‘I think it marries very well. We have become a team that is indefensible.’

At the age of 24, Kilnauw has stated that her ambition is to become the best rugby player – male or female – in the world.

She is on her way and has an impressive nine tries in just four Six Nations matches this year.

Jess’ appearance comes just days after she spoke out about delving into her personal life during the writing process for her upcoming third studio album JESS.

The songwriter, who is in a relationship with television presenter and former England footballer Alex Scott, 39, says she has embraced “the sexual female side of me” for one song.

While writing another song, she faced difficult emotions as she remembered the loss of a close friend, which happened while she was going through a difficult breakup.

She said The sun: ‘I had a break-up, I’d lost my boyfriend and I was alone in LA – it all happened at the same time.

‘When I selected the songs for the album, I could imagine the emotions I went through with each song. That’s why the album is so personal. Writing it was like therapy.”

The song Love Me, which has the same title as a track on her 2015 debut album I Cry When I Laugh, explores her sexual awakening.

Jess said: β€œI wrote the new Love Me and it’s strange because when I started writing it I realized it was the same title of a song I already had.

β€œBut if you listen to the lyrics of the current one and the old one, they’re both sexually very feminine. It’s me embracing the sexual feminine side of me.’

She added, β€œThe old Love Me is me growing into myself and telling myself it’s going to be okay. Then in this Love Me I’m sure of myself – let’s do this and get under the covers.’

The Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter released her latest single Enough in February.

The single will appear on her new album JESS, out April 26 via EMI Records.

Written in Los Angeles and produced with Adele hitmaker Greg Kurstin, Enough is an optimistic song that chronicles Jess’ relationship with self-esteem and acceptance.
