Comedian Mick Molloy will join Mark ‘MG’ Geyer on Triple M’s new breakfast show in 2023: Mick and MG in the Morning after The MG, Jess and Pagey show was axed with one day’s notice.
Jess Eva announced on Thursday that her show will not take place next year and that Friday will be the ‘last show’, while Chris Page already announced in October that he will stop the breakfast program.
Former Network 10 news presenter Natarsha Belling will also join the new team as a newsreader.

“Mick and MG in the Morning will bring Triple M listeners a fresh new breakfast offering, as well as the familiar voice of Molloy and his legendary radio antics,” Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) said in a statement released Friday.
“The well-known and respected news anchor Natarsha Belling will join the show as a news anchor and will banter with the best of them to keep the boys on their toes.”
Meanwhile, Molloy said: ‘I’m excited to return to my spiritual home at Triple M and look forward to intervening in the Sydney breakfast radio scene.

‘After a year away from the airwaves I wanted a new challenge and Sydney is the perfect opportunity. I also look forward to working with MG and sharing stories.”
And if this doesn’t work out, I’ll throw my hat in the ring at The Project. I hear there’s an opening,” he joked about the Channel 10 news show’s mass exodus.
MG said in the statement that he is delighted to be working with Molloy in the new year.
‘I can’t wait to work with Micky, who I consider radio queens. One of us has a pub, the other a gym. The “crossover” after work will be a hoot!’ he said.

“If you can come here to a breakfast show and pick up some soul mates and then roll back out and have a glass of wine, how good is it to be alive?” That’s what Jess told listeners on Thursday
Molloy has spent three decades with SCA and the last 11 years with Triple M radio, appearing on the footy commentary team.
He is also the host of Channel Seven’s The Front Bar.
The announcement comes after former Block star Jess broke the news that she will wrap up on Friday.
She clarified that she and MG will not be out of work and will still be part of the “Triple M family.”
“Tomorrow is all about reflection,” MG told listeners. “Tomorrow will be all about the year we’ve had together.”
Pagey already announced his departure from the breakfast show in October to pursue other opportunities outside of radio
An emotional Jess then addressed MG and co-host Cat Lynch, who has been filling in since Pagey left.
‘I just adore you. At the end of the day… If you can come here to a breakfast show and pick up some soul mates and then roll back out and have a glass of wine, how good is it to be alive?’
Distraught fans left comments on the Triple M Instagram account about the axing, most expressing their shock at the news.
“Nooooooooo,” one remarked, while another wrote, “Wtf no way!”
In October, Pagey surprised listeners by announcing that he would be leaving the station at the end of the year.

On their Triple M show, the host said that after more than a decade with the network, it was time for something different.
“Sometimes you can do the same thing for too long,” he began.
He joked that he doesn’t have to get up at 4 a.m. every day for his next role.
An emotional Pagey said he formed a close bond with his colleagues at Triple M that would last a lifetime.
“I love this radio station and all the people who work here. It’s a family,’ he said.
In April, it was revealed that former Triple M star Lawrence “Moonman” Mooney had paid the $1 million breach of contract claim he filed against the radio network late last year.
It was still listed for clues on May 11, but sources confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that the case had been resolved. The terms of the settlement are not known.
The court heard in February that Mooney had feared South Cross would ‘smudge’ him with baseless accusations when it tried to justify his sudden dismissal.
Mooney demanded more than $1 million for his unceremonious departure from his Moonman in the Morning radio program in November.
In April, it was revealed that former Triple M star Lawrence ‘Moonman’ Mooney (pictured) had paid the $1 million breach of contract claim he filed against the radio network late last year.
Labor specialist John Laxon, for Mooney, had described the case as a “very straightforward breach of contract claim” before it was settled.
When the case went to court in February, both parties agreed to go to mediation, but Mr Laxon said Southern Cross Austereo was 44 days late in filing a defence.
Mooney was dumped on November 12, 2021 during his breakfast radio gig and sued Southern Cross Austereo for over $1 million in unpaid wages.
Mooney’s departure came two weeks after he suddenly disappeared from the airwaves amid rumors of a major falling out with co-host Eva, who starred on the 2018 season of The Block.
Mick and MG in the Morning will air next year from 6am to 9am on weekdays, starting Monday, January 16.
