Jerry Seinfeld’s stand-up show is interrupted by pro-Palestine heckler screaming ‘free Gaza’

Jerry Seinfeld’s stand-up routine was interrupted by a pro-Palestinian protester who stood up at the start of his show on Saturday and shouted “liberate Gaza.”

In a video obtained by TMZ, the heckler is seen getting out of his seat during Seinfeld’s show in Norfolk, Virginia to shout directly at the Jewish comedian.

“You’re in favor of genocide!” the man said, before gesturing to the entire crowd and accusing them of being “genocide supporters.”

“You should all be ashamed of yourselves!” he screamed.

The crowd loudly cheered the heckler, with some telling him to “get out of here.”

Less than 30 seconds after the Palestinian supporter identified himself, a man in a green shirt ran up to him and began attacking him, eventually resulting in a standoff.

A spectator saw the confrontation between the protester, seen second from the right, and his attacker, who was standing immediately to his left in a green shirt

The protester tried to keep shouting at the stage during the scuffle, and some fans heard clapping as the heckler was silenced.

“I love it when a little Jew doesn’t light up the show,” Seinfeld said when the fight broke out.

An alternate angle, shot from someone even closer to the fight, shows the man in the green shirt looking angry just before the attack.

‘Out. Out. You’re ruining it for everyone else… Go away!’ the attacker tells the protester as he pushes him.

A spectator tells the man to let go of the protester.

“You’re going to break his neck,” they said.

The struggle lasted 20 seconds before security guards arrived to break up the fight.

The crowd then started chanting “Jerry!” Jerry! Jerry!’ as security escorted the protester out of the venue.

According to people on the show, Seinfeld told everyone not to boo the man because he had the right to protest.

Others certainly exercised that right throughout the night. According to TMZ, there were about eight protesters who disrupted Seinfeld’s riot.

Another audience member interrupted Seinfeld mid-joke and said, “Save the children of Gaza! No more American tax money for genocide!’

The woman next to him told him to “shut up and go away.”

Seinfeld, who has been described as “unusually vocal” in his support of Jews in Israel, is seen giving a guest speech at Duke University’s commencement ceremony.

The comedian was greeted with a mix of cheers and boos when he was introduced at the ceremony

Seinfeld has made his support for Israel very clear, making him a favorite celebrity target for angry agitators.

The billionaire comedian told the Times of Israel in December 2023, just over two months after the war in Gaza began, that he “lived and worked on a kibbutz in Israel when I was 16 and I have loved our Jewish homeland ever since.” .’

He added that he would “always stand by the side of Israel and the Jewish people.”

Following these comments, Seinfeld was confronted in New York City after attending the State of the World Jewry speech in February.

Journalist Bari Weiss gave the speech, and as Seinfeld left the event, protesters repeatedly shouted at him “liberate Palestine” and “you support genocide.”

And recently, dozens of Duke University students left their own commencement ceremony out of frustration that Seinfeld was about to speak.
