Jerry Jones faces a new sexual assault lawsuit over allegations he ‘kissed a woman on the mouth and forcibly grabbed her without her consent,’ after Texas court overturned 2021 firing
A sexual assault lawsuit against Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones that was dismissed in 2020 has been revived by an appeals court in Texas.
According Dallas Morning Newsthe case will now resume and possibly go to trial.
The alleged incident occurred on September 16, 2018 at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys and the day they hosted the New York Giants in the NFL.
Jones, 80, is alleged to have kissed a woman “on the mouth and forcibly grabbed her without her consent.”
At the time, Jones denied the allegations, saying they were “malicious and hurtful.” So far, there is no response from him about the reactivation of the case.

Jones has been married to his wife Eugenia (pictured together in 2022) since 1963.
In the lawsuit, the woman says the incident caused her “severe emotional distress,” “psychological pain and suffering,” and medical expenses.
She alleges that the incident occurred in the Tom Landry room of the stadium.
The lawsuit was dismissed because the judge at the time said the accuser failed to comply with an order for special exemptions. Now, it’s revived because the appeals court said she “made a good faith attempt to amend her allegations in response to the court’s order of special exceptions.”
The woman is represented by her attorney Thomas Daniel Bowers, who told the Dallas Morning News on Tuesday: “We always knew we were going to win because the law was on our side.”
“A victim will finally have their day in court and that is very important.”
Jones has owned the Dallas Cowboys since 1989. He bought the franchise for $150 million and it is worth an estimated $13.6 billion.
They have won the Super Bowl three times under his ownership: in 1993, 1994 and 1996.
Jones is also currently in a different legal battle, where a judge ordered him to take a paternity test to find out if he is the biological father of a 26-year-old woman.
Jones is worth an estimated $131.6 billion and bought the Cowboys for $150 million in 1989.
A Texas judge issued the genetic testing order in December in a paternity case brought by Alexandra Davis, who previously claimed in a separate lawsuit that she was conceived out of a relationship Jones had with her mother in the mid-1990s.
In March of last year, Davis sued Jones in Dallas County, asking a judge to vacate a legal agreement that she said her mother, Cynthia Davis, had reached with Jones two years after she was born.
The 1998 agreement reportedly said Jones would support them financially as long as they didn’t publicly say he was Alexandra’s father, something the Cowboys’ married owner denied.
Jones has been married to his wife Eugenia since 1963.
