Jermaine Jenas SLAMS his former side after they crashed out of the Champions League

‘It’s been an absolute DISASTER of a night for Spurs’: Jermaine Jenas criticizes his former team after they crashed out in the Champions League with a lackluster performance against AC Milan

Jermaine Jenas was highly critical of Tottenham after AC Milan knocked him out of the Champions League.

Spurs could only manage a 0-0 draw in north London after a lethargic performance, and are out of the tournament on aggregate after losing the first leg 1-0.

Jenas didn’t hold back, as he told BT Sport: ‘It’s been an absolute disaster of a night for Spurs. They have been all over the place collectively.

‘Individually they haven’t been able to put on performances together. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. I have seen many performances in football clubs that seem like the end, this is one of them.

The result caps a difficult few days for Spurs after Sheffield United knocked them out of the FA Cup last Wednesday and they fell to Wolves in the league at the weekend.

Glen Hoddle was also critical of Tottenham, adding: “This team is not good enough. There was no energy, there was no creativity.

Collectively they weren’t into it tonight, it was very disappointing. There just wasn’t enough skill out there. Tottenham are outnumbered in midfield, and those two can’t pressure against a three or a four.

‘This midfield is the problem for me. They can’t press, because there are big holes behind them. It’s a real problem. Too often they back down for nothing. They give teams time to organize and put pressure on them.’

Peter Crouch was especially critical of his former team, adding: “What’s the point of being in the top four if you’re going to perform like that in the Champions League? The fans want to see a trophy.
