‘I know Tottenham and how the fans feel’: Jermaine Jenas hits BACK at Gary Neville after the Sky Sports pundit criticized BBC presenter and Jamie O’Hara for their furious reactions to the dismal draw at Everton
- Jenas defended his criticism of Spurs’ 1-1 draw against Everton on Monday
- He and fellow ex-Spurs star Jamie O’Hara slammed the club after the match
- Neville responded to their criticism, pointing to their own career at Tottenham
Jermaine Jenas has defended his criticism of Tottenham’s performance in their draw with Everton after Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville lashed out at the BBC presenter and Jamie O’Hara.
Spurs, left without a full-time manager following the departure of Antonio Conte last week, slipped two points in their 1-1 draw with the Toffees on Monday night after a late strike from Michael Keane.
Following their latest setback, Jenas – who played over 200 games for the north London club between 2005 and 2013 – tweeted: “Can’t watch this team anymore ffs.”
However, Jenas was not the only former Spurs star to criticize Christian Stellini’s side’s performance, as O’Hara also called his old side a ‘disgrace’.
Then on Tuesday morning, Neville responded to the former Tottenham duo’s criticism, insisting it was ironic given what they failed to achieve at the club.

“Interesting to see ex-Spurs players who never got anywhere near Champions League places when they played for the club for years and said they can’t see this current team now.
Spurs are currently 4th ahead of Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool. Perspective!’
Jenas then responded to Neville’s tweet, defending his position saying: ‘Perspective.. I actually really like listening to @GNev2 talk about his club.. mainly because of the knowledge he has of the club and how passionate he is. but I know as a club and I know exactly how the fans feel. But…’.
Jenas then added another tweet accompanied by a photo of him playing for Tottenham in the Champions League and continued: ‘…maybe he wasn’t talking about me. Apologies if so @GNev2.’
The former England midfielder made 202 appearances in all competitions for Spurs between 2005 and 2013, including eight appearances in the 2010-11 Champions League season.
O’Hara, on the other hand, made 56 appearances in all competitions, but none in the Champions League. He made 10 appearances in the UEFA Cup, now known as the Europa League.

The former Spurs midfielder produced a heated diatribe about the current state of the club in his post-match analysis for talkSPORT on Monday night.
After the match, he said furiously, “What a joke! I’m cooking and I know Spurs fans are absolutely cooking.
“It was a shame that the last 15 minutes of that game. They should be ashamed to walk into the dressing room at the 1-1.
“What the hell are those players doing? Conte came in for a load of stick and how he said what he said and where he said what he said was wrong, but what is 100 per cent correct is that this team has no desire, they can’t play under pressure.
“They are finished, they have no character, they are washed as a team. The sooner we get rid of all these average players, staffers and teams, the better Spurs will be.
O’Hara said Spurs were a ‘disgrace’ and urged the club to get rid of ‘bang average’ players
That sums up Spurs in a nutshell: what the hell are we doing? I’m tired of being a Spurs fan. I’m done with it.’
Last night’s result saw Spurs Man United jump to fourth place, although Erik ten Hag’s side still have two games in hand.
They return to action on Saturday as they entertain Roberto De Zerbi’s high-flying Brighton before facing crucial games against Newcastle, United and Liverpool at the end of April.
