Jeremy Renner shares an update on his recovery with a clip of him jogging for the first time since the near-fatal snowplow accident
Jeremy Renner shared an update on his recovery progress on Thursday.
The 52-year-old actor – who shared that he is already starting a new renovation project last week – posted a video of himself exercising on an anti-gravity treadmill on Instagram.
The Hawkeye star wrote of the clip, “First attempt at very light jogging with weight-assisted lift for the broken tibia.”
The Bourne Legacy alum also shared a motivational message about persevering through his difficult recovery journey: “Pain is progress for me.”
Earlier this year, Renner survived being crushed by a 14,000-pound snowplow and suffered serious injuries, including more than 30 broken bones.

In the video, he said jogging was “a new exercise.” [and] movement I’m not used to.’
He seemed breathless as he jogged on the treadmill, adding, “Walking and jogging [use] very different muscle groups.’
Recently, the Bourne Legacy alum shared clips of himself performing a variety of different exercises in an attempt to regain full mobility after shattering his tibia.
More than a week ago, he posted a motivational video showing the progress he’s made since the accident.
In the clip, Renner was seen needing help as he took each step with a walker.
At the end of the video put together by his physical therapist, he not only improved his speed and stability, but was walking hands-free with more confidence.
Months earlier, on New Year’s Day, Renner survived being crushed by a snowplow and suffered serious injuries.
In April, the Academy Award nominee appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his documentary miniseries Rennervations.

During the interview, he also spoke of how “lucky” he was to survive the terrifying accident.
He revealed that it was fortunate that the machine was missing the critical parts of his anatomy.
“It just missed every vertebra, didn’t hit any organs, the membrane didn’t swell,” he explained. “My eye popped out—that’s weird—but I was lucky none of the organs got messed up.”
The New Year’s Day accident broke more than 30 Renner’s bones, and he was hospitalized in “critical condition” and underwent multiple surgical procedures.
