Jeremy Renner reveals his 10-year-old daughter Ava is ‘reason number one’ for his recovery from a near-fatal snowplow accident one year ago

Exactly one year after he was nearly crushed by a snowplow, Jeremy Renner reveals that his 10-year-old daughter Ava is “reason number one” he survived.

The 52-year-old actor was on his property in Lake Tahoe when he was run over by a massive 14,000-pound snow plow.

The tragic accident resulted in more than thirty broken bones, a collapsed lung and a punctured liver due to a shattered rib.

The Avengers star took to Instagram on New Year's Day – exactly one year after the accident – where he praised his daughter for helping him through his recovery.

He also shared a video he and his daughter made of the song Wait from his upcoming EP Love and Titanium, which debuts on January 19.

The post includes a photo of Renner hugging his daughter on New Year's Eve while she wears a Happy New Year 2024 tiara.

'The number one reason for my recovery is her. “I asked her to 'wait for me' when I first saw her when I got home on January 14,” Renner began.

'As I got better, she got better, less scared. There is simply no better motivator to recover than healing your family and friends,” he added.

'Always with gratitude, thank you all for your love and support this past full year. “I needed every ounce of goodwill and prayer,” he told his 21.2 million followers.

“I hope you enjoy the video we made from the 'Love and Titanium' EP coming out on January 19th,” he concluded.

The video he shared of his YouTube channel is for a song on the EP called Wait, which features footage of him and his daughter doing various activities.

Renner first announced the album with an October 2023 Instagram post, revealing the album cover artwork.

He also appeared on CNN's New Year's Eve broadcast, where he opened up to hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper about his recovery.

“I'm so blessed to have so many things to live for, brother. I have a huge family, I have a 10 year old daughter, [and] I would have disappointed and really ruined a lot of people's lives if I had died, and so there's a lot I can be better off of,” Renner replied.

“There was a lot I had to fight for, and recovery was just a one-way street in my mind. My recovery became a relief for me because I knew I could give relief to my family, my daughter and everyone I had truly affected,” he said.

“With that, I never thought about my own physical ailments, my own pain, or my own fear. I had so many things to fight for, so the one-way road to recovery was my mental attitude, and that attitude was always about getting better. There is no other option than that. And I still work every day, and I thank God that I have a lot to fight for,” he added.
