Renner has chronicled her recovery on social media, which could last for years, since surviving the horrific accident on January 1.
Renner said last month that he was doing “whatever it takes” in his recovery, in a video of him improving his leg strength with the help of a Technogym bike. He focused on his left leg as he sat in the saddle and pedaled away, using his hand to help him through the motions.
Renner said she prioritized her “mental recovery” as she curled up by the fire and opened The Book of Awakening, a “spiritual journal” written by philosopher, poet and cancer survivor Mark Nepo.
In the accident, Renner was using his snowplow to help pull his nephew’s car out of the driveway of his residence near Reno, Nevada, after it got stuck in the snow. However, his snowplow began to slide down a street after the car was towed, causing the actor to jump out of the cab.
After getting out of the vehicle, Renner realized that he could potentially hit his nephew, who was with him at the time of the incident. The Kingstown Mayor Star then attempted to re-enter the snowplow to divert its path, but was swept under the left-hand side track and struck during the attempt.
Renner was crushed under the vehicle and was immediately taken to the hospital suffering from breathing difficulties and various other injuries.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office report found that the snowplow may have had various mechanical problems at the time of the incident.
The interpreter underwent several medical procedures while recovering in the hospital and often expressed his gratitude to his medical team through his Instagram account.
