Marvel star Jeremy Renner is out for a second surgery to treat injuries he sustained when he was struck by the snowplow he was using at his Lake Tahoe ranch.
A rep for the 51-year-old actor said People on Monday night that Renner “returned from surgery and remains in the Intensive Care Unit in critical but stable condition.”
It added that the two-time Oscar nominee “suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries” in the accident Sunday morning as he tried to clear a path out of his Lake Tahoe home with his PistenBully, a snow cat made by the German manufacturer Kassbohrer.
The vehicle’s safety features failed, causing it to roll over on Renner’s leg, approximately a quarter mile from his property. TMZ informed. He was airlifted to the hospital.

Renner is best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
His family now wishes to ‘express their gratitude to the amazing doctors and nurses who care for him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, City of Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, and the Corano and Murdock families.
“Everyone is tremendously overwhelmed and grateful for the outpouring of love and support from their fans.”
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office explained what happened in a statement: ‘At approximately 9:00 am on January 1, 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the Mt. Rose area. Highway in Reno, Nevada.
“Upon arrival, deputies coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for the medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.
‘Mr. Renner was the only party involved in the incident.
“The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the circumstances of the incident.”
A neighbor who turned out to be a doctor was able to place a tourniquet on his injured leg to stop the bleeding, but Renner suffered significant blood loss when he was flown out of the snowy scene at 9:50 am.
Renner is pictured at his home in 2017. He has said in the past that he had to clear snow to gain access to the property.
The Marvel star appears on the snow machine believed to have been involved in Sunday’s crash in a 2019 video.
Renner appears to be plowing his Lake Tahoe driveway in the winter of 2019. He is in the hospital in stable but critical condition.
Renner is perhaps best known for his role as Hawkeye, a skilled archer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After the accident, Renner’s Marvel co-star Mark Ruffalo asked his fans to keep him in their prayers.
“Pray for our brother’s full and speedy recovery,” Ruffalo wrote. ‘Please send healing kindness his way.’
Ruffalo and Renner first appeared on film together in 2012 during the original Avengers movie.
Since then, they have appeared in several other superhero movies, including Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Endgame.
Renner shares a daughter with his ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco.
