Jeremy Kyle, 58, pays tribute to wife Vicky Burton, 40, as he returns to work after ‘running around like a headless chicken’ on paternity leave: ‘I take my hat off!’

Jeremy Kyle paid tribute to his wife on Monday as he returned to work for the first time since the birth of his sixth child.

The divisive presenter was back on the Talk TV news desk, where he was on hand to discuss the latest headlines with co-host Rosie Wright.

Kyle, 58, and second wife Vicky Burton celebrated the birth of daughter Iris – the couple’s second child and their sixth – in January.

And he praised former nanny Burton, 40, and her ability to multitask at home with their young children while he resumes his day job.

“It was good,” he said, before showing a photo of his newborn daughter. “Little Iris, I think she’s watching now.

“I should say hello to her mother. I know I said before I left that I was going to play golf – I lost five pounds!

‘I was running around like a headless chicken. But on God’s earth, it is impossible to care for a four-year-old and feed a baby. I take my hat off to my wife.

“That’s a different gravy than this, isn’t it? This is like rest. Sleep well in the car, right? Come here, someone did my makeup, ironed my shirts, great.

He added: “I’ve never been near a golf club. I’ve been doing nipple cream and feeding and all kinds of things…

‘It is awesome. She’s great too. And Vic did a fantastic job.”

More than three decades separate Jeremy’s newborn baby from his eldest daughter Harriet, who he had when he was just 24.

Speaking to The Sun in January, the presenter denied claims he is ‘too old’ to have a baby and insisted this is ‘no one else’s business’.

He said: ‘The world has definitely changed since I first became a father. One thing never changes: no sleep, no money, no sex! And you know what they say when you’ve had one, the second is always easier… so the sixth is a piece of cake.’

He joked, “And it’s one more girl, one more wedding to pay for. I’ll keep working until I’m 80!’

Jeremy went on to reveal that he’s busy every weekend taking his kids to hockey and swimming lessons, which “keeps him young.”

He added: ‘Of course people say ‘oh come on, you’re 58’, but you’re just as young as the people around you. I have a young wife and I have so many children now, I probably have more than Boris Johnson.”

Jeremy revealed in September last year that he would become a father for the sixth time as his wife Victoria was pregnant with their second child.

The broadcaster shared the news that he would welcome a daughter in the coming months, after he and Vicky welcomed their son Oliver in 2020.

Speak with The sunJeremy said he and Victoria, who he married in 2021, were “over the moon” to welcome another child in early 2024, adding that his family would be “complete.”

In addition to son Oliver, Jeremy is father to daughters Harriet, 33, Alice, 20, Ava, 18, and son Henry, 13, who he shares with ex-wife Carla Germaine.

Jeremy revealed that Vicky suffered a devastating miscarriage last year, shortly after they announced they were expecting their baby, before she became pregnant with Iris.

The presenter admitted he and Vicky were on an ’emotional rollercoaster’ after she suffered the miscarriage in March.

The couple suffered a second miscarriage in 2019 before welcoming their son Oliver.
