- Jeremy Clarkson’s gridwalk conversation with Martin Brundle in Bahrain went viral
- The former Top Gear presenter blasted F1 teams for a lack of progress
- Clarkson later admitted to drinking a “bloody load” of beer on race day in Bahrain
Jeremy Clarkson has admitted he had plenty to drink after his cameo during Martin Brundle’s grid walk ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix went viral.
The final F1 season kicked off in the Middle East last weekend, with the Grand Tour and former Top Gear presenter joining celebrities such as Neymar and Patrice Evra in the opening race.
As usual, before the race started on Saturday, Brundle approached several high-profile figures on the grid, including Clarkson, who was asked for his thoughts on the upcoming season.
Clarkson’s hilarious performance went viral after he told Sky Sports: ‘I’ve spent all day looking at the lap times from last year to this year and wondering, what did they all do last winter?
‘The differences are generally the same. McLaren has become a little better, they are much closer to Max. It’s strange going from one year to the next when so little has changed.”
