Jeopardy! fans left ‘annoyed’ over ‘easy’ Final Jeopardy clue ALL contestants missed

Danger! viewers became “annoyed” over an “easy” clue during the Final Jeopardy portion of the trivia game during Monday’s episode.

It comes shortly after fans became furious when last week’s episode didn’t air following an unannounced schedule change.

Contestants Mark Fitzpatrick, Amanda Prusila and Daniel Gately were ‘stunned’ as they tried to solve a clue in the category: ‘Brand Names.’

Fitzpatrick had a big lead with $23,000, while Daniel had $4,200 and Amanda with $600 during the third and final round.

Host Ken Jennings said the clue was, “In 1886, the bookkeeper for this brand came up with the name and flowing script logo and said, ‘The two C’s would look good in advertising.’

After a moment of deliberation, the contestants shared their written guesses for the clue, with the host revealing that they had all answered incorrectly.

Prusila had written Coco Chanel and bet $0, while Daniel Currier gambled. Like Amanda, Gately also bet $0.

The overnight leader, Mark, bet $3,400 but also answered Coco Chanel, dropping him to an even $20,000.

When the participants couldn’t solve the clue, Jennings then shared that the answer was Coca-Cola.

Fans who watched the final episode quickly flocked to social media to share their thoughts and confusion about the contestants missing the ‘easy’ question.

‘I knew it as soon as it came up. So annoyed with the participants!’ wrote one viewer on YouTube.

Another wrote: ‘It’s baffling that all three of them got that wrong. Probably the easiest FY question in a very long time.”

One also added: “Another FY that should have just been a low dollar category question. Shocking that they all missed it.”

Others took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share how they could solve the clue quickly.

“My biggest takeaway is that I got the last danger question right and none of them could figure it out,” one fan wrote, while another shared, “What was so confusing about the last danger clue?”

“Gosh none of the Jeopardy contestants got Final Jeopardy and I said the answer before the commercial break without the actual clue lol,” one viewer added.

One shared, “Nothing makes you feel smarter than seeing three Final Jeopardy contestants get ‘Coke A Cola’ wrong lol,” while another typed, “Knew tonight’s final Jeopardy answer and none of the contestants got it understood.’

A fan also wrote, “I can’t believe no one got the Final Jeopardy answer right. It was so easy. #Jeopardy #MondayThoyghts.”

“Easiest final jeopardy of all time tonight and NONE OF THE THREE COMPETITORS GOT IT, I’m going crazy,” one viewer added.

“How is this a final danger question??? this is an insult to the game,” one fan wrote alongside a screenshot of the episode.

However, another viewer admitted he couldn’t answer the clue either, adding: ‘I didn’t get it either. I don’t think it should have been considered an easy task.”

Others also took to a subreddit page to express their thoughts, with one adding: “That last threat was a triple whammy, but I guessed right.”

Earlier this year in July during a previous Jeopardy! episode, viewers were shocked by Jennings’ “brutal” questions.

Some expressed concern that the old game show on ABC had become “way too difficult.”

During the Cybertalk category, three participants were only able to solve one of the five clues.

One of the clues was: “It’s the two-word term for the physical separation of a computer system from others, and a good way to protect against hacking.” Ken later revealed that the answer was “air gap.”

Fans jumped to Reddit with one token: “I’ll never be on Jeopardy, but man, what a tough night to live, category-wise. Cheeky.’

Another viewer wrote: ‘God, that was a rough set of clues. And not just for the participants; so many responses came in that I had never heard of in my life.’

One also added: ‘Is that a record for most unanswered questions? That was madness.’

Others have criticized the bosses for “dumbing down” questions for past contestants on the syndicated show.

A baseball game, basketball game and a special political report took the place of the trivia game show instead.

It was also revealed in August that host Ken Jennings has ‘no intention’ of stepping back from his duties as host of the hit gaming competition show, despite swirling rumors that he could be axed.

The TV personality — who was speculated to possibly be replaced by SNL comedian Colin Jost — became the sole regular host during the show’s 40th season.

After Jost was named as host for the spin-off Pop Culture Jeopardy! and after criticism from fans, rumors emerged that Jennings could lose his role as host on the flagship series.
