Jeopardy! fans are BAFFLED by contestant’s ‘unique buzzer stance’ as they question if he is in handcuffs

Viewers of Jeopardy! were baffled by the unusual tactics of contestant Will Weiss, who kept his wrists crossed for most of the episode. Fans jokingly wondered if he was wearing handcuffs.

The technical program manager from Islip, New York, largely stuck to his “unique point of view” Tuesday night, but only came to his senses during conversations with host Ken Jennings.

Will’s ‘innovative’ game plan distracted fans, who tried to figure out why he was pressing the buzzer with his arms crossed, with some urging him to ‘break those chains’.

“Oops, Will is in handcuffs,” said one X viewer, before adding, “Maybe someone will find the key to Will’s handcuffs during the break.”

Another noted: ‘Will has a very special buzzer pose tonight.’

Alongside a gif of Ross Geller from the sitcom Friends, a third joked: “Break those chains, Will!”

A fourth commented: ‘Interesting buzzer hold, Will.’

On Reddit, someone said: ‘I love it when someone takes an innovative but clever approach to the buzzing technique, and Will’s crossed wrists are a unique twist on Fritz Holznagel’s advice to brace your buzzing arm so that your entire arm doesn’t move.’

Another responded: ‘Petition to rename Will’s buzzing technique “Gangnam Style.”‘

Will, who ultimately won with an impressive final score of $14,000, remained mum about his approach to the buzzer, but did indicate that he could have participated in the show twenty years ago.

Speaking to presenter Ken he said: ‘Twenty years ago I qualified and got to compete during the season when you made your historic run.’

Ken asked, “Were you waiting for that call, or were you hoping you wouldn’t get that call?”

“I was,” Will replied. “And when I think about your run, would I have been competitive?

Jeopardy! returned Monday with season 41.

The show’s premiere episode left many in stitches due to the ‘strange’ new categories introduced, including ‘Parenting’ and ‘Mom and Dad’.

Elsewhere, fired Jeopardy! host Mayim Bialik indicated she would like to return to the series.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, she said: ‘I’m still a fan of the show and feel very honoured to be nominated for an Emmy for my work.

‘That’s something that made me change my bio, and that got me nominated for Jeopardy!

“So yeah, it’s something I’m still very proud of. And yeah, we’ll see what happens this season.”
