When police were called after Apostol’s death, Niguidula said his injuries were caused by his “stupidity” — including an electric fan he was installing falling on his head.

She told police that before his death her relationship with Mr. Apostol was on the mend and that she had a happy time with him, had the “perfect” date and had the best sex of her life.

She pleaded guilty to manslaughter but denied killing her spurned lover.

A partial defense of substantial impairment, alleging that she had a mental illness so severe that she could not control her actions, was rejected by the jury.

Psychological evidence submitted to the court showed a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder.

The case will then come before Justice Hament Dhanji on June 9.
