Jennifer Lopez turned Ben Affleck ‘into a family man again’ but she wanted to take the kids out while he preferred to ‘stay home’

Jennifer Lopez may have had a hand in Ben Affleck’s increased focus on his children, according to a new report from People has claimed.

According to the site, the Atlas actress motivated the Argo director to be more “family-oriented.”

During their two-year marriage — which Ben hinted at a few months ago — the kids were “really important to them,” the insider said.

Lopez has twins, Max and Emme, 16, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Affleck has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

But the way they spent their time with the children, it was said, divided them.

While JLo enjoyed going shopping and attending fun events with the little ones, Affleck preferred to stay home.

“They’re very different people,” the source added of Affleck and Lopez. “She’s very open and wants to go out, and he’s more introverted and is happy to hang out at home.”

Jennifer was indeed often seen traveling with the kids, as she has a busy schedule.

And she probably wanted to take all five kids with her on her summer tour, which has been postponed until 2025.

Ben may not want to go out as much anymore because he’s just not as social as Lopez.

In an interview with Kevin Hart earlier this year, Ben said he was “shy”: “I’m a little shy. I don’t like a lot of attention,” he told the comedian.

“That’s why people see me and they’re like, ‘Why is that guy always angry?’ Because someone had their camera pointed at me and I was like, ‘Okay, here we go.'”

“You have a face that radiates calm,” Hart joked.

“B****h? Now,” Affleck responded, pretending to be angry.

‘I have a hard face. People project something onto me that I don’t feel about myself at all.’

In the interview with Hart, Ben also went into great detail about Lopez’s enormous fame, even though he is actually only a little bit famous.

According to the Air star, fans went wild when they saw the 55-year-old Bronx-born beauty with him in Times Square.

It turned out to be his idea to walk through one of the busiest neighborhoods with a superstar on his arm.

We went somewhere with [Jennifer]”I don’t remember that because she’s so famous and she’s creating this. People love her and she really represents something important to people,” Affleck said.

‘[To me,] People would say, ‘Hey, I like your movie,’ and they’d be like, ‘AAAHHHH! J-LO!’ he’d yell. ‘He’s great, you know what I mean?’

Then he became more specific.

“I think it was when we were driving through Times Square,” he continued.

‘We got out of the car, we were going to a play, and I was like, ‘Fuck it, honey, we’re going to be late, we still have to walk a block and a half.’ [Lopez] was like, ‘Okay,’ she didn’t say anything.’

They were with all their children – he has Violet, Seraphina and Samuel with Jennifer Garner and Lopez has Max and Emme with Marc Anthony.

“We went out with her, with all the kids, through Times Square, and the shit was like f****n’ bananas,” Affleck noted.

“I thought, ‘Oh my God.’ There was a woman, she was smoking weed, dressed in a purple tight suit — she’s a heavy woman — and she started running backwards while they were filming, and she was yelling, ‘-LO!!”

He added: ‘Like a herald who attracts everyone, and then all the tourists come.’

Affleck said the chaos was too much to handle.

“And then we have our five kids, me and Jen, and hundreds of other people, and they’re all screaming.”

Meanwhile, Lopez is said to be feeling “disappointed and sad” after filing for divorce from Affleck, but she knew it was “time to move on.”

The superstar was engaged to Hollywood actor Ben, 52, in the early 2000s and the pair reconciled in 2021, before tying the knot in two ceremonies in 2022. However, the relationship has ended, with Jennifer filing for divorce on Tuesday to end the union.

Now, a new report suggests Jennifer has found the time right to move on with her life. A source told PEOPLE: “[She knows] it’s time to move on’ for several reasons

“She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any sign that he wants to continue their marriage. He hasn’t shown any commitment or interest in making their marriage work. It’s gotten to the point where she’s just left to fend for herself.”

The divorce filing came exactly two years after the couple’s extravagant second wedding in Georgia on August 20, 2022. An insider told the publication that the significance of the date was not lost on Jennifer.

They said, ‘She was done waiting and the date she did that says it all… [The divorce filing] gives her control over the process… It’s good she did it…

“She tried really hard to make it work and now she’s sad about it.”

The source stressed that the former couple’s blended family is a priority, adding: “The children are the top priority, as always.”

The singer/actress wrote an entire album — “This Is Me… Now” — inspired by the couple’s newfound love affair, and even made a film version of it. She even raved about the relationship just months before the official date of their divorce, which is listed as April 26, 2024.

She told the Metro newspaper: ‘I wrote This Is Me… when Ben and I fell in love 20 years ago. As fate would have it, we came back into each other’s lives. And on the 20th anniversary of This Is Me… I announced that I was doing This Is Me… Now.’

“It was inspired by the surreal miracle that had happened. Him coming back into my life and us being reunited in a way that we never expected was the inspiration to even go into the studio.

“The album just poured out of me. It was just something organic and beautiful, but it was definitely inspired by getting this incredible second chance at real, true love.”
