Jennifer Lopez’s mother Guadalupe Rodriguez is urging her daughter to leave Ben Affleck because she fears the singer is losing sight of himself, according to insiders who claim her family believes she deserves better than a man who “throws in the towel” instead of fighting to save their relationship.
The 54-year-old On The Floor singer and the 51-year-old two-time Oscar winner have been plagued for months by rumors that their two-year marriage is in crisis. Photos of them missing their wedding rings and living apart have fueled speculation that they are on the verge of divorce.
Now Lopez’s 78-year-old mother is reportedly urging her daughter to cut her losses and file for divorce so she can focus on her career and her children — 16-year-old twins Emme and Max.
“Jennifer’s mother told her, ‘Stop losing and move on with your life to avoid getting yourself into even deeper trouble,'” an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com.
She told her that for years she had thought Ben was some kind of knight in shining armor.

“He wasn’t the person she raised him to be. It cost her too much and she lost sight of who she is and what she stands for.”
According to the source, Lopez’s sisters Leslie Ann and Lynda share their mother’s concerns and fear that the singer and actress has lost perspective on what her marriage has become.
“Jennifer currently feels like Ben doesn’t deserve her and her sisters agree,” they continued.
‘Of course they want Jennifer to be happy, but they feel like their sister is so focused on what it should be that she doesn’t see it for what it is anymore.
“They want her to file for divorce first and move on with her life: focus on her children and career.”
The source concluded: “It’s sad for her family and Jennifer that Ben can’t see that there’s a woman out there who is loved by millions and who will love him forever. But he’d rather throw in the towel than actually try to make things right.”

The claims mark a major about-face from Lopez’s mother, who revealed on national television last year that she had been “praying” for 20 years that her daughter would reconcile with the Gone Girl actor.

Speaking to Savannah Guthrie on the Today Show, she said, “I always knew they would get back together because I prayed for it for 20 years.”
Lopez was stunned by her mother’s comments at the time, telling Entertainment Tonight: “It’s so funny, she never said that to me. We never talked about it.
“She really loved him when we were together before.”
The A-list couple were engaged in the early 2000s but then split. They reunited in 2021 and married in July 2022.
They were inseparable after their much-talked-about reunion, but in recent months they have not been spotted together for weeks.
The last time they were publicly photographed together was on June 2, when they shared an awkward kiss on the cheek at Affleck’s son Samuel’s basketball game in Los Angeles.
They later attended the 12-year-old boy’s graduation ceremony and subsequent party at Affleck’s current home in Brentwood, California on June 12, but were photographed separately.

The actor lives in a $100,000-a-month rental home near his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52, while Lopez lives in the $60 million Bel Air mansion they bought last year.
On July 1, Affleck was photographed arriving at his Beverly Hills office with luggage.
The photos came after reports he had “moved his things out of their house” while Lopez traveled alone to Italy, later flying to France for Paris Fashion Week.
The current situation is also difficult for Garner. She has reportedly made a conscious decision to distance herself from the ‘circus’ surrounding her ex and his marital problems, because the ongoing situation has brought up ‘painful’ memories for the actress.

Insiders previously revealed that the Elektra actress took on the role of ‘advisor’ to the pair in a bid to help them resolve their alleged issues.
In addition to Samuel, Garner also shares Violet, 18, and Fin, 15, with Affleck. She was married to the actor from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018.
