Jennifer Lopez looked somber as she was spotted at a pizza parlor on July 27, where it was announced that she and husband Ben Affleck have filed for divorce.

The 55-year-old singer and the 51-year-old actor want to divorce after a last-ditch attempt at reconciliation in recent weeks failed.

Sources told DailyMail.com that the couple’s split documents ‘have been completed, but not yet submitted’.

And Jennifer, despite the failure of her marriage, went to a pizza place in New York to enjoy some comfort food.

She appeared obsessed with her phone as she enjoyed an al fresco lunch with two male friends, following the week of her birthday celebrations.

Jennifer sat dejectedly, hunched over the table, shielding her face with large sunglasses.

News of her impending divorce comes after Ben starts a new $20.5 Million ‘Bachelor Pad’ Mansion in the Pacific Palisades on Wednesday, July 24, Jennifer’s 55th birthday.

Friends of JLo claimed Ben’s sudden purchase of a bachelor pad on her birthday had been a “stab in the heart”.

His purchase came just days after the couple put their Beverly Hills mansion up for sale for $68 million.

July 24 also marked the day that JLo closed on the sale of her four-bedroom penthouse in New York City for $23 million, People reported.

“They finalized the divorce papers a month ago, but are still waiting for the right time to file,” a source close to the duo said.

‘They will then release a joint statement saying that they love each other very much and that they fought to make it work, but it didn’t work out.

“Honestly, they couldn’t come to a compromise in the end. What they had before is gone and they both accepted it,” another source claimed.

DailyMail.com reached out to representatives for Ben and Jennifer for comment at the time.

The couple was last pictured together on March 30. Since then, they’ve spent the summer apart, with Jennifer living mostly on the East Coast while Ben remains home in Los Angeles.

They even celebrated their second wedding anniversary on July 16 in different cities.

In May, reports emerged about Ben and Jennifer’s marital problems. According to a source close to the couple, Ben had moved into a $100,000 rental home and the couple was looking to sell their “dream home.”

Ben’s house was just a short drive away from his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s Brentwood home.

The couple was married from 2005 to 2018, and have children together Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.

Ben’s bachelor pad looks more like a multi-million dollar mansion, with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a breakfast and dining area, plus a separate family room, den, walk-in closets, media room, powder room and even a guest house.

The house was designed by architect Cliff May. The penthouse that Jennifer sold is a four-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom duplex.

Ben and JLo, who bought their dream home for $60 million in May 2023, have yet to find any buyers.

Reports of the couple’s marital problems surfaced in May, after they had not been seen together since late March.

A source told In Touch at the time, “Ben has already moved out and they will likely have to sell the dream home they’ve been looking for for two years.

“They will never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”

One of Jennifer’s friends from LA told the Daily Mail: ‘If it’s just a matter of putting in the effort, then you better trust that [Jen] will turn it around.

“She’s put her heart and soul into her love story with Ben and she’s not going to give it up without a fight,” the source added. “From what I hear there’s still a lot of love, so there has to be hope.”

JLo and Ben tied the knot on July 16, 2022, at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. They tied the knot again the following month in an even more lavish ceremony in Georgia in 2022.
