Jennifer Lopez is still struggling to sell tickets just ONE MONTH before This is Me… Now tour kicks off – as insiders claim she looked to Taylor Swift and Madonna for inspiration

Jennifer Lopez may have rebranded her This is Me… Live tour, but even with a new emphasis on her biggest hits, she still seems to be having trouble moving tickets.

The Jenny From The Block singer, 54, will hit the road next month with a series of dates across North America in support of her ninth studio album, This is Me… Now.

But with just a few weeks to go, Lopez — who will co-chair this year’s Met Gala next week — is facing a worrying lack of sales, with seats still available at multiple locations, according to official seating maps at Ticketmaster.

It comes after insiders claimed she looked to Taylor Swift and Madonna for advice on how to attract bigger numbers.

Performances in Denver, Colorado and Tulsa, Oklahoma are particularly poor, with rows of seats still available, while large quantities of resale tickets are also on offer for the opening night in Orlando, Florida, on June 26.

The numbers are also concerning for her double nights at Miami’s Kaseya Center on June 28 and 29, and her home shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 16 and 17.

Despite the majority of tickets for the first night having been sold, numbers for the second night are terrible, especially on August 17 – the final night of the tour – where large numbers of seats are still available.

VIP packages for the performance, which range in price from $651 to $4,198, are also proving difficult to shift.

Other acts playing the 19,500-seat MSG arena this summer include Niall Horan and Billy Joel, who are close to selling out, while Pearl Jam sold out two consecutive full-capacity shows in September.

On the other hand, there are a handful of locations that appear to be almost sold out. These include Lopez’s upcoming shows in Newark, New Jersey, and Canada’s Toronto and Montreal in early August, where entire blocks of seats are fully booked.

In March, Lopez quietly canceled seven dates in Cleveland, Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans and Houston between August 20 and 31 due to slow sales.

Sources previously told Billboard that this was “due to routing issues.”

At the same time, she announced the addition of second dates in Miami, Toronto and New York.

Shortly afterwards, she renamed the tour This Is Me… Live The Greatest Hits in an apparent attempt to appeal to fans, after initially planning to focus the tour on her latest album – and first in 10 years – on February 16.

The decision is said to have been partly inspired by the success of her competitors Swift and Madonna, who have enjoyed hugely successful tours over the past two years.

“Jennifer saw how well Taylor Swift did with the Eras Tour and Madonna with Celebration, which spans their entire career, and she hopes to deliver something that will take her fans on the journey of a lifetime,” an insider told DailyMail. excluding .com.

“This is me… This was such a healing and cathartic experience for her. She doesn’t regret it for a second.

“But now she’s looking ahead and ready to take this back to her roots and show her fans that she is still and always will be Jenny from the Block.”

It’s perhaps no surprise that Lopez was eyeing the 34-year-old Swift, whose record-breaking Eras Tour surpassed $1 billion in salesmaking it the highest grossing profit of all time.

Each show lasts more than 3.5 hours and consists of a setlist of 44 songs from the singer’s 17-year career.

Meanwhile, Madonna’s recently completed Celebration Tour, which paid tribute to her four-decade career, earned an impressive $77 million in ticket sales.

Brand expert Hayley Knight previously told DailyMail.com that Lopez’s problems with shifting tickets could be the result of a poor marketing strategy, but claimed the rebrand wouldn’t necessarily help.

“There’s one big reason why Jennifer Lopez renamed her tour, and that’s to get people talking about it,” she said.

‘Sales have been low and there hasn’t been much engagement or buzz around it, so rebranding it has got everyone talking about it again.’

She said the new title “reduces the confidence she has in her new album of the same name, and focuses on her hits,” adding, “Secondly, unlike Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez has Madonna, Britney Spears and Beyoncé, doesn’t have a dedicated fan base.

“She has more casual fans of her music, who may or may not choose to go see her live.”

This Is Me… Live The Greatest Hits marks Lopez’s comeback after a five-year hiatus, following her 2019 tour that grossed more than $50 million.

Her latest album debuted at number 38 on the Billboard 200, marking the first time she missed the top 20.

It also failed to reach the top 50 of the UK Album Chart, debuting at a dismal 55.

The release coincided with the premiere of her new semi-autobiographical film, This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, and her documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, which were part of a $20 self-financed program along with the album million. three-part multimedia project.
