Jennifer Lopez baffles fans with ‘cringe’ shirtless snap of Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lopez was mocked by fans after sharing a ‘cringe’ Father’s Day tribute to her husband Ben Affleck.

On Sunday, the mother-of-two treated her 247 million Instagram followers to a shirtless photo of Ben talking about “all the amazing Papas out there!” gushed!

When she tied the knot in July 2022 last year, Ben became stepfather to her twins Max and Emme, 15, who she shares with ex-husband, Marc Anthony.

Ben is also father to daughters Violet, 17, and Seraphina, 14, as well as son, Samuel, 11, who he shares with ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

In the post’s caption, J Lo, 53, wrote, “Daddy Appreciation Post ✨ Happy Father’s Day Papa. And Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there!! We love you and appreciate you more than you’ll ever know.”

Still, fans were baffled by the choice of steamy snap, pointing out that it seemed more appropriate for Valentine’s Day.

Confused followers wrote: “it gave me the creeps”; “I don’t know why…but this post is kind of cringe”; ‘Let’s see the back!’; “I got confused thought I opened Grindr”;

Why would you post a shower pic of your husband? That is appreciating him as a father? Foreign. LOL’; “JLo, it’s Father’s Day, not Valentine’s Day!” “Why would you post a picture of your husband half naked and then talk about Father’s Day?”

‘Not in the picture he’s a dad lol’; ‘shrink’; “dear father not one picture of him with his or her children.”

However, some fans quickly came to her rescue and called on others to stop being “miserable.”

They shared, “This comment section did NOT pass the vibe check! Let’s not feel miserable on the internet for a change? Happy for you JLo. Grateful for good fathers.’;

‘Show them what you do to mommy!!! Hell, you people are soooo judgmental! Did she compare him to Marc NO!!! Did she say Marc wasn’t a good father? She is just grateful that her HUSBAND is a good father to him and her all around!

In addition to the shirtless photo, Lopez also uploaded a short film of Ben sitting on a chair in what appeared to be an office. He quickly leaned back and looked over his shoulder to flash a cheery smile at the camera.

The video then continued as a montage of sweet moments they’ve shared so far, including a flashback clip of them dating back in the early 2000s.

Affleck was seen wearing a white tank top and sunglasses as he gently kissed Lopez, who donned an all-white ensemble and carried an adorable puppy in her arms.

The two stars had initially started dating in 2002 and got engaged later that same year in November, but later broke up in 2004.

Notably, the couple were romantically linked years later in April 2021 and officially tied the knot the following summer in Las Vegas in July 2022, followed by a larger ceremony in August at Affleck’s Georgia estate.

Other clips showed the lovebirds riding in a vehicle while getting some fresh air with the sunroof open, and the two also having a loving moment together on set.

The Grammy-nominated singer finally shared two selfies as her husband rested his head on her shoulder, causing the actress to flash a happy smile at the camera.

Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, also took to her Instagram on Sunday to give a special shout out to the Good Will Hunting star.

The mother-of-three, who was recently spotted sharing a loving kiss with her current boyfriend John Miller, uploaded a photo posing alongside her mother and father at a church.

The 13 Going On 30 actress wrote, “Happy Father’s Day to the best that ever got the job done. (Jeans in church – I made my connecting flight but not my luggage),’ she explained humorously. “We love you, Dad.”

The star then took the time to pay tribute to Affleck, with whom she shares three children. “PS Shout out to BGA,” she wrote, referring to his full name: Benjamin Géza Affleck.

The beauty then concluded with, “No one loves their children the way you love ours. Happy Father’s Day, Ben!”

The former couple had tied the knot in 2005 and their divorce was finalized in 2018 after 13 years of marriage.

Lopez recently gushed about Ben being a “father figure” to their kids while performing on the Today show last month in May to promote her Netflix movie The Mother.

While talking about her teenage twins, Jennifer revealed, “They love Ben. He’s a great, great father and a father figure to them as well.”

She continued, “Because he has three beautiful kids of his own and then there’s us and he’s fantastic. He really takes up the challenge of what that is and what that means and they love him. They appreciate him and so do I.’

When passing by The view also last month in May, Jennifer emotionally stated that Ben is “a great dad.” It brings tears to my eyes. He really is the best dad I’ve ever seen,” and admitted that the actor “teach me how to handle the kids.”

The beauty added: ‘He’s such a brilliant guy anyway, he’s learned in so many things. You can just tell when he’s had his kids, he’s read every book and everything you can learn about kids, and he’s applying it.”

Affleck herself has also opened up about fatherhood and explained The Hollywood Reporter in March: “I don’t want to go to Austin and New Orleans and Georgia and see my kids anymore.”

‘It just doesn’t work. These years are too important. If I miss them, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life,” the Air star admitted.
