Jennifer Lopez asked Boy Next Door costar Ryan Guzman to PRETEND to be single so they could flirt when promoting the movie 10 years ago says his siren ex
Jennifer Lopez is accused of clever marketing for one of her films.
When the 54-year-old actress promoted her stalker film The Boy Next Door in 2015, she asked her co-star Ryan Guzman to do something rude, it is claimed.
The Jenny From the Block singer asked Ryan to pretend he was single. His then girlfriend, Melanie Iglesias, now lays claim to the No Chaser podcast.
Iglesias has come out to accuse JLo of masterminding the move, explaining that if Ryan appeared single, it would indicate there could be sparks with the Bronx beauty.
That’s why Jennifer was seen holding hands with Ryan while promoting the movie, knowing that Guzman was going back to Iglesias at the end of the night.
Lopez – who dated Casper Smart in 2015 – and Iglesias look very similar with toned figures and long dark hair.

Lopez indeed had a vested interest in the film, as she was one of the producers through her production company with Benny Medina called Nuyorican Productions.
Jennifer poured her heart into the film and secured the financing, even wearing her own clothes in the film to keep costs down.
So it’s no wonder she worked hard to make the film perform well, and creating a fake romance to boost box office sales isn’t unheard of in Hollywood.
The Boy Next Door ended its domestic box office run with a total of $36.0 million, and has earned an additional $17.4 million in foreign markets for a total of $53 million.
The film has done well on streamers in recent years.
Melanie also said that she met Jennifer at an awards show when she was still dating Ryan and that the introduction was awkward.
Iglesias is a 36-year-old model and actress from Brooklyn.
After being voted winner of Maxim’s Hometown Hotties in 2010, she has been featured in magazines such as World’s Most Beautiful, Esquire and Vibe.
Melanie also appeared in the shows Orange Is The New Black and Dead House.

This comes just as JLo triumphed with many projects this year.
She starred in her own film This Is Me… Now, about finding true love again in her 50s.
Lopez went ‘unfiltered’ for her documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told.
Director Jason Bergh has worked with the singer and actress for years and he revealed that she was generous with her time and access, but her best friend also filmed some of the more intimate moments.
He told Variety: “It was implicit, that comes when you work with someone for so long. I also give a lot of credit to Ana Carballosa, Jennifer’s best friend.
‘She also had a camera and was there for things I couldn’t get.
‘The access was unfiltered and during the editing we decided whether something served our story or not. Of course, it’s revealing, but we’re very relaxed with each other.’
Jason also got access to Jennifer’s husband Ben Affleck and manager Benny Medina and praised both for being so open.

On Thursday she was seen wearing a dress for the Spanish-speaking Federation
He said: ‘Madinah! I call him Uncle Benny because he is such a big supporter of mine. The whole camp has a big story – making sure we have a beginning, middle and end. Ben is great too. He is a great filmmaker who understands the process and is extremely supportive. I had to pinch myself, to be honest. I moved to Los Angeles 20 years ago and have always dreamed of being in this position.”
The Greatest Love Story Never Told is a documentary about the making of Lopez’s 2024 visual album ‘This Is Me… Now’ and Jason worked hard to help Jennifer remain ‘unguarded’.
He said: ‘There are two very powerful moments in ‘This Is Me… Now’, for the songs ‘Broken Like Me’ and ‘Rebound.’ When we were filming ‘Broken’ you could have heard a pin drop. There are 100 people on set, but there she is, just digging the pain out of herself. This raw emotion through dance and music. I’m an emotional guy, and in those moments you can’t help but be drawn to her. As a documentary filmmaker, I had to be very careful about how I documented those moments because I want them to remain unguarded. I shot with longer lenses and from greater distances, working my way in.
