Jennifer Lopez is asked POINT BLANK about Ben Affleck split rumors in Mexico City – and her response is a bit sassy

Jennifer Lopez was finally asked point-blank about the ongoing speculation that her marriage to Ben Affleck is over.

The On The Floor hitmaker, 54, was confronted with the hot question during a press conference for her new Netflix film Atlas in Mexico City on Wednesday.

In a now-viral video, a male reporter shocked the crowd when he asked Lopez to confirm if the “Ben Affleck rumors” were “real.”

She tried to laugh it off when her co-star Simu Liu quickly came to her defense.

Lopez – who was still wearing her wedding ring – then playfully scolded the man. “You know better than that,” she said.

The audience applauded J.Lo for the way she handled the situation, while one of the panelists warned other reporters to avoid that line of questioning.

“Come on, don’t come in with that,” they said.

A video of the interaction was shared by ElGordoyLaFlaca on Instagram, where fans shared their thoughts in the comments section.

Some thought Lopez seemed “hurt” by the reporter’s question.

“She looks so hurt when she’s asked that question. They should just leave her alone,” one IG user wrote.

Another fan begged the media to stop “coming into her life.”

Lopez arrived in Mexico on Tuesday as part of the ongoing promotional campaign for Netflix’s Atlas, which opens in theaters on Friday, May 24.

Despite the Q&A bacle, the mother of two seemed unfazed by the speculation surrounding her relationship with Affleck as she posed for photographers on Wednesday.

She put on a dazzling show in a see-through jumpsuit after recently sharing that she is the “thinnest” she has ever been.

The sexy mesh ensemble showed off her nude bra underneath and was fitted at the waist to accentuate her figure.

The mother-of-two added height to the outfit with chunky silver platform heels.

Lopez and Simu were also joined by director Brad Peyton for the press event.

Atlas centers on a brilliant data analyst (Lopez) with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence who joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past.

But when plans go awry, her only hope to save humanity’s future from AI is to rely on it, according to a press release.

Lopez produces Atlas through her production company Nuyorican Productions and their deal with Netflix.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Affleck is pushing for a divorce from Lopez after calling the union a “fever dream.”

Amid swirling split rumors, PageSix has claimed that Affleck is ready to end his two-year marriage, even going so far as to claim that the decision to tie the knot was due to “temporary insanity.”

A source told the site that the Oscar winner has “come to his senses” after previously being so in love with the Atlas actress that he could no longer think straight.

Although he has spent regular quality time with Lopez in recent days, he now feels like his head is “clear” and he can move on.

“If there was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, he would do it,” the PageSix source said.

The actor lives in a $100,000-a-month rental home in Brentwood, just two blocks from his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, and not in the marital home he shares with Lopez.

Aerial photos obtained by DailyMail.com on Tuesday showed the 10,000-square-foot mansion Affleck has been living in for the past few weeks.

While the temporary home offers enough space to comfortably house multiple families, it’s a downgrade for Affleck, who purchased a 38,000-square-foot mansion with his wife J.Lo last year for an eye-watering $60.85 million.

Fans began to suspect that something was wrong with Affleck and Lopez’s wedding after they weren’t photographed together for almost two months, though the time difference was reportedly due to the singer’s busy schedule and Affleck’s work filming a sequel on The Accountant.

The two appeared to reunite last week for a school performance that featured his child Fin. Although they were both grinning when they arrived at the piece, at other times they too looked noticeably icily around each other.

Ben has been seen without his wedding ring more often lately, but they both wore their rings when they were together.

On Monday, a source told PEOPLE that the married couple is at odds over the amount of attention they court.

“They just have very different approaches when it comes to media attention,” they claimed. ‘Ben hates all the attention and it makes him very uncomfortable. Jennifer has always had a different approach.’

They added that it just wasn’t “his way” to reveal so much of his inner life to the public.

‘It doesn’t make him happy and causes stress in his life and then hers. There is no doubt that their different styles clash,” the source said.

Another source reportedly based in the music biz said, “She needs that expression, but Affleck just isn’t comfortable with it. After a while it causes tension in the relationship.

“He’s more introspective and private. She loves opening her heart to her fans and to the world. This makes them significantly different, and it has been difficult in the day-to-day relationship,” they continued.

‘There have always been clashes in their styles, the way they deal with problems and their actions, but nothing has stopped their love over the years. This is a great love story,” the music industry source added.

This weekend, Ben was visited by his ex-wife Jennifer at his rental home.

On Tuesday, a source exclusively told DailyMail.com that his current wife Lopez recently confided in Garner as she tries to save her marriage.

“JLo confided in Jen because she knows she is one of the few people in the world who would understand what she is going through,” the source said.

“She went through it herself with the same man and even though the circumstances were very different, it’s still the same man and they were both dealing with some of the same issues.”

The source said Garner sees Ben’s current marriage as a stabilizing force that helps him maintain his sobriety.

“Jen doesn’t want Ben to pull the plug on this marriage because she really cares about J.Lo,” the insider said.

‘She did go to his house to talk to him about it and try to keep the two together.

“J.Lo was told several times by Jen how appreciated she is in all of their lives. She is one of the few women who can reach Ben and stop him from going off the deep end with his addiction,” she added.

Affleck has previously opened up about how his struggles with addiction played a role in the end of his marriage to Garner.

Ben and J.Lo tied the knot in 2022 after rekindling their romance in the wake of her divorce from Alex Rodriguez.

The two previously dated from 2002 to 2004, including an engagement, although they called off the wedding and went their separate ways at the time.
