Jennifer Lawrence looked back on the dark side of becoming a global superstar through The Hunger Games.
After the film came out in 2012, she admitted to feeling a “commodity” and “losing a sense of control,” she said at an event at the London Film Festival.
‘When I think back now, I can’t think of those years to come, [because there was] just a loss of control,” the 32-year-old actress recalls Variety.

She made the comments to Francine Stock during an onstage interview for the London Film Festival’s Screen Talk series.
“I think I’ve lost a sense of control,” she said. ‘Between The Hunger Games coming out and winning the Oscar [for 2012’s Silver Lining Playbook]I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group decision.”
Jennifer recently took a years-long hiatus from feature films before making her comeback last year in the apocalypse comedy Don’t Look Up.
She’s managed to regain the control she’d lost, and the film-making process now feels “personal to me for the first time in a long time.”
