Jennifer Hudson was on the cover of the September issue of Really simple.
The 41-year-old artist sat down for an extensive interview in which she talked about parenting and the possibility of a new record.
The singer, who recently spoke about her new relationship with Common, also made a comment about the hunky hitmaker.
When asked about her connection to the rapper, she again called him “beautiful,” something she told a news outlet earlier this week.
‘Mr Common – Rashid we call him – he is a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful man. And that’s all I’ll say,” she told Real Simple.

But she insisted that she focuses more on her son than dating these days.
The artist said her priority was the well-being of her son David, 13, who she shares with her ex-fiancé David Otunga.
“My mom didn’t believe in just anybody around her kids, and I’m the same way. I’m extra careful and cautious… It’s been a long time until now. Because my focus was clearly on my child,” she said.
Hudson also discussed parenting and said she had begun educating her son on issues affecting African Americans.
“As a mother of a black son, you have to make him aware and aware of certain things — who he is in the world. And there are so many layers he has to learn! But he’s at an age where he can fully understand,” she said.
At some point during the interview, the artist talked about her plans for the future and revealed that she would be going back to the recording studio.
‘I’m going to make an album soon. I’m doing a talk show, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop singing or acting. It’s my passion to do all these things,” she noted.

“I feel like the show is all about who I am and how I connect with people. The only difference is that the cameras are rolling,” she said.
The Tony Award-winning performer said she was thrilled to be able to speak to people from all walks of life on her program.
‘Everyone has a story. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you’ve done, where you’re from, I’m interested,” she said.
