Jennifer Hawkins earns a tidy profit as she sells her Newcastle investment home for $840,000 after purchasing it for $345,000

Jennifer Hawkins is in the process of selling one of the last properties in her once extensive investment portfolio.

The investment in the Lake Macquarie precinct is a charming three-bedroom home in Minmi, about 20 kilometers from central Newcastle, and is expected to fetch between $800,000 and $880,000.

Hawkins, 40, who was born in Newcastle, originally bought the property for $345,000 in 2008, a year after closing a lucrative $4 million deal with Myer.

The single-storey brick and tile home sits on a spacious 664 square metre plot and features a rear terrace overlooking a large lawn and a ‘men’s shed’.

The property has the added benefit of bordering a reserve, creating a serene and private environment.

According to realestate.com.auTroy Duncan of First National Lake Macquarie Edgeworth is handling the sale, and he has highlighted the investment potential of the home, suggesting a rental return of around $700 per week.

This sale marks an important moment in Hawkins’ real estate journey. In 2016 she sold another investment property, her first ever purchase: a three-bedroom house in Merewether.

It was purchased in 2006 for $469,000 and sold for $731,000, demonstrating Hawkins’ talent for profitable real estate investments.
