Jennifer Garner is DONE being a ‘marriage counsellor’ to ex-husband Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez – and wants to step away from the ‘circus’ after ‘painful’ realization

Jennifer Garner has made a conscious decision to distance herself from the ‘circus’ surrounding her ex-husband Ben Affleck’s marriage to Jennifer Lopez, insiders report. They claim that the ongoing situation has brought up ‘painful’ memories for the actress.

Garner, 52, and Affleck, 51 – who recently moved his belongings out of the $60 million mansion he shares with On The Floor singer Lopez, 54 – have been pictured together in recent weeks amid mounting speculation that his two-year marriage is on “shaky ground.”

Insiders previously revealed that Garner was acting as an ‘advisor’ to the troubled couple as she desperately tried to help them work through their alleged issues. Now, however, sources claim the Elektra actress has decided to pull out completely.

“Jen got to the point where she was like, ‘I’m sorry, just deal with this yourself,'” an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com.

“It started to become too painful for her because it brought back so many memories of their separation.”

It comes amid mounting speculation over the state of Affleck’s relationship with Lopez, with insiders previously telling DailyMail.com that their two-year marriage is on “shaky ground”

Affleck and Garner, the parents of Violet (18), Finn (15) (formerly known as Seraphina) and Samuel (12), were previously married from 2005 until their divorce was finalized in 2018.

Garner has reportedly been struggling in recent weeks with memories of her own marriage to Affleck and their subsequent breakup. Despite how much she cares for Lopez, she no longer wants to be so closely involved.

“There were times during their marriage when Jen felt like she was subordinate to JLo, even though she and Ben went years without communicating,” the insider said.

‘She was surprised at how public he became when they got back together, as he had always been a man who wanted to stay out of the spotlight when they got married.

“Jen opened her home and her life to JLo because she had moved on with her life. She cares about JLo and their children and how it’s going to affect them all.

“But at the end of the day, it’s not Jen’s circus, it’s not Jen’s monkeys, and she’s done playing marriage counselor to her ex-husband and his wife.”

Garner’s withdrawal comes days after DailyMail.com revealed that her alleged fiancé, businessman John Miller, 46, was fed up with her being so busy trying to “fix” Affleck’s marriage.

“John wants nothing more than for Ben to be okay, but it’s not his girlfriend’s responsibility to look after him,” an insider said last month.

Affleck, 51, was spotted on Sunday paying a weekend visit to his ex-wife’s Los Angeles home

“That’s for Ben to figure out and for his wife to arrange. It’s not Jen’s responsibility, and he told her this.”

On Sunday evening, Affleck was spotted visiting Garner’s Los Angeles home.

The revelation came after rumors that he and his wife were living apart. The Atlas actress currently lives in their $60 million mansion, while Affleck stays in a $100,000-a-month rental in Brentwood.

Lopez recently returned to the United States after a solo trip to Italy, where she was photographed spending time with close friends on a boat ride on the water in Positano.

Last week, the star also appeared at Paris Fashion Week for the Dior Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024-2025 fashion show.

On Saturday, the Grammy-nominated singer was spotted grabbing lunch with her daughter Emme, 16, in Beverly Hills, but Affleck was nowhere to be seen.

The couple have been plagued by divorce rumors for months, which were further fueled when they put their Beverly Hills mansion on the market in early June for $65 million.

The two appear to still be in touch and have business ties: Lopez is set to star in two upcoming films – Unstoppable and Kiss Of The Spider Woman – for Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company.

This comes a week after another source told DailyMail.com that Lopez is “done” with trying to make her marriage work.

“Jenny has had enough and she has really tried but she can’t do it anymore. It’s not getting better, it’s getting worse,” a music industry insider told DailyMail.com.

They added that the main reason Lopez left her husband was because he was always “grumpy and negative,” just like Oscar The Grouch from Sesame Street.

Lopez is sad about the end of her marriage, but “is trying to make the best of it by exercising, spending time with her twins Max and Emme, and making new plans for 2025.”
