Jenna Ortega shared the adorable video her mother posted on social media that launched her acting career.
The actress reflected on how her career started in 2010, when she was just seven years old, because of a Facebook post.
The Wednesday star, now 22, shared the clip in the latest episode of My Generation, a new documentary series from NBC News Studios that airs on MSNBC.
“My mom made this video and put it on Facebook for her friends, and they loved it,” she recalls.
The Scream alum — who was featured in a behind-the-scenes teaser clip shared by Netflix for the upcoming season on Wednesday — added, “Somehow it eventually found its way to a casting agent, and the rest is history .’

“Like many Gen Zers, you could say my career was also launched online,” she continued.
In the clip, the actress was just a child at the time and was filmed by her mother.
“Hello, my name is Jenna Ortega and I am seven years old. I’m going to show you my dramatic monologue now,” she said.
Then the current Ortega, who represented Gen Z, started talking about how the social media post launched her acting career.
She previously recalled how she fell in love with acting at the age of six.
However, her parents initially told her there was “no way” they would let her pursue the career.
But she persisted, and eventually they let her try after she put on a dramatic show for her mother and impressed her.
Ortega, who grew up in Southern California, tried to break into the industry for years.

Her parents drove her six-hour round trip to Los Angeles four times a week after school.
Finally, at the age of 10, she got her first role: a guest appearance on the CBS show Rob.
Ortega became a Disney child actress and later landed roles in Jane the Virgin and Stuck in the Middle.
Although she became famous at a young age, she said her family helps her stay humble.

She said her mother Natalie, father Edward and five siblings – Isaac, Mariah, Mia, Aliyah and Markus – help “keep my feet on the ground.”
“I love that I can come home to the Coachella Valley and see my family and friends who have been with me since day one,” she told People in 2017.
‘It’s nice to always have them by my side. Ortega also said that despite her fame, her family still treats her normally and does not allow her to get out of her chores.
“When I get home from set, they don’t forget to tell me there are dishes waiting for me in the sink,” she said.
