Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum’s court battle will ‘NEVER end’ – until Magic Mike star ‘gets reasonable’

The heated legal battle between Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum shows no signs of slowing down after their nearly nine-year marriage ended in 2018.

Despite the actress’s efforts to reach an agreement on the financial portion of their legal separation, Tatum has reportedly slowed down the process by refusing to compromise.

“Jenna has repeatedly attempted to settle this matter behind closed doors, to keep things private and out of the public eye to protect Channing and Magic Mike,” a source told DailyMail.com exclusively. “Unfortunately, this case has dragged on for six years because Channing has unrealistic expectations about divorce and how marital assets should be divided in California.”

The insider predicted that “their affair will never end until Channing comes clean and meets Jenna halfway.”

It is unclear whether the former couple, who have an 11-year-old daughter together named Everly, have signed a prenuptial agreement.

The contentious legal battle between Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum appears to have continued unabated following the end of their nearly nine-year marriage in 2018 (pictured in 2015).

This comes after lawyers for Dewan, 43, said in documents filed Tuesday that attorneys for Tatum, 44, had “used every trick possible to prevent this case from going to trial,” according to legal documents obtained by DailyMail.com.

Tatum’s legal team argued in court documents that Dewan’s Aug. 16 request to fire Tatum’s attorneys at Glaser Weil and Blank Rome due to a perceived conflict of interest amounted to “simply another delaying tactic to drag out our divorce proceedings.”

The legal proceedings, which have now lasted more than six years, mainly revolve around the distribution of the money Tatum earns from the Magic Mike film franchise.

The Hartford, Connecticut, actress said in court documents that Tatum is “attempting to blur the lines” of intellectual property in the Magic Mike franchise.

Dewan said money spent during their marriage was used to fund the lucrative franchise, while Tatum’s lawyers said he never concealed any income or deprived Dewan “of her share of the community assets or income.”

Dewan’s attorneys said Tatum’s team “is depriving Jenna of a fair and equal share of the joint estate, and he is harming her every day as this case proceeds.”

Tatum’s legal team said Tuesday that Dewan’s latest move was “solely intended to delay the upcoming trial,” the outlet reported.

Tatum’s team wrote in legal documents that the actor has made “exhaustive attempts to resolve all issues in this matter without a trial” since 2018.

“Jenna has repeatedly attempted to settle this matter behind closed doors, to keep things private and out of public view to protect Channing and Magic Mike,” a source exclusively told DailyMail.com (seen in 2015)

They added: ‘He has made numerous settlement offers, attended multiple mediations, his attorneys have prepared numerous drafts of a proposed verdict, and he has attempted to resolve issues directly.’

Tatum’s attorneys wrote in a legal response that Dewan’s motion earlier this month was “frivolous” and “without any basis in law or fact” and that it was “a transparent attempt to distract the court from her willful violation of the court-imposed deadlines for filing depositions and providing evidence.”

Tatum’s team suggested to the court that Dewan should be fined “$20,000” for the cumbersome request.

An Aug. 28 document from Dewan’s attorneys stated that Tatum’s attorneys were required to report “Glaser Weil’s extensive and ongoing involvement in marital transactions involving the community’s Magic Mike intellectual property.”

Dewan’s attorneys called it “shocking” that Tatum “hired a new divorce attorney just five months before trial” and “that same attorney created an elaborate network of LLCs, each at least partially owned by Channing, for the sole purpose of conducting business involving the community’s Magic Mike intellectual property.”

The Magic Mike franchise spawned the 2012 hit film and multiple sequels — 2015’s Magic Mike XXL and 2023’s Magic Mike’s Last Dance — as well as the 2021 reality series Finding Magic Mike on HBO Max and a show set in Las Vegas.

Since their split, they’ve both found new romances: Tatum is engaged to actress Zoë Kravitz, 35, while Dewan has been engaged to actor Steve Kazee, 48, since 2020. Dewan and Kazee are parents to son Callum, four, and daughter Rhiannon, two months old.

Tatum and Dewan first met during the 2006 film Step Up and became engaged in 2008. They tied the knot on July 11, 2009 in Malibu, California.

Tatum and Dewan announced their separation in a joint statement on April 2, 2018, saying, “We fell madly in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together.

‘Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love each other, but love is a beautiful adventure that takes us down different paths for the time being.
