Jenna Bush Hager leaves Hoda Kotb gobsmacked as she reveals she almost got a Destiny’s Child-themed TATTOO on her back after going through a ‘terrible’ break-up

Today star Jenna Bush Hager left her co-host Hoda Kotb shaking her head in disbelief after revealing she once came close to getting a Destiny’s Child tribute tattoo on her back following a bitter breakup with an ex-boyfriend .

The 41-year-old host casually shared the wild confession during Thursday’s episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna as they discussed Sofia Vergara’s divorce from her husband Joe Manganiello.

After reporting that Modern Family alum Sofia, 51, has seen “a lot of changes” following her divorce, Jenna shared an unexpected anecdote about one of her own breakups.

Jenna recalled how one of her friends helped her out after she had been wallowing at home for a while: “I still remember that moment (when a friend said enough was enough) with a terrible breakup.

‘I ended up seeing someone again about 47 times.

“My friend, Tracy, said, ‘It’s enough, get up,’ and we went outside and danced and I almost got ‘Survivor’ tattooed on my back.”

Shocked by her co-host’s confession, a stunned Hoda, 59, replied: “Wait, what?”

“That Destiny’s Child song was popular,” Jenna continued, before adding, “We went to the tattoo parlor on 6th Street. Thanks, Jesus, it was closed. Imagine if I got ‘Survivor’ tattooed?’

Destiny’s Child, a girl group from Jenna’s home state of Texas, rose to fame in 1990 with major hits including Lose My Breath, Bills, Bills, Bills and Say My Name.

Their song Survivor appeared on their third studio album of the same name and peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The group’s final lineup included Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and the trio sold more than 60 million records.

Although they officially split in 2006, the women have reunited several times in recent years, including the Super Bowl halftime show in 2013.

Although Jenna has been married to her husband, Henry Chase Hager, for 15 years and is a mother of three, she has spoken candidly about her past relationships.

Last month, Jenna recalled the painfully awkward moment her parents gave her and twin sister Barbara a surprise birthday party — only to walk into the event and realize they’d invited some of her ex-boyfriends.

The television personality, the daughter of former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura, revealed that her mother and father would always go the extra mile when it came to throwing parties.

However, the festivities for her joint 16th birthday party with Barbara were a little awkward because her exes were in attendance.

“I had a surprise party for my 16th birthday,” Jenna said. “It was a pancake breakfast, which was cute.

“We wanted to kiss my dad goodbye before he went to school, and my mom said, ‘Go inside and see daddy,’ and mom claimed we were going to get our driver’s license, so that’s why we had to go in early. ‘

Excited by the little anecdote, Hoda exclaimed, “And everyone was there!”

“Everyone was sitting there,” Jenna continued. “My parents were creative birthday planners, which was fun, but then it gets a little tricky because the old friends are sitting next to the new friends…”

Shocked by her co-star’s revelation, Hoda wondered, “Would your parents invite friends?”

‘Yes!’ Jenna replied. “I mean, this was a long time ago.”
