Jenna Bush Hager hilariously mimics her son Hal’s horrified reaction when she told the four-year-old he was ‘cut out of her belly’ – as she opens up about the morning of his birth

Jenna Bush Hager mimicked her son’s shocked reaction when he was told he was “cut out of my stomach” in reference to his C-section.

The Today personality, 41, and co-host Hoda Kotb, 58, discussed the occasion of her son Hal’s fourth birthday on the morning talk show Wednesday.

“It’s a big day in the Hager household!” announced Hoda.

The mother-of-three responded by wishing her youngest “happy birthday” on live TV before reflecting on the morning of his birth – which happened at 9:02am on August 2, 2019.

After describing her C-section to Hal as the day he was “cut out of my belly,” Jenna made a hilarious look at the shocked expression her youngest made in response

“You’re so literal!” Hoda laughed at Jenna’s choice of language when describing her C-section to her four-year-old son

The former first daughter went on to say that Hal would be having a Paw Patrol themed birthday party later that day

“My sister arrived with breakfast tacos and donuts. And the nurse said I couldn’t eat breakfast tacos and donuts… I couldn’t eat yet because I had a c-section,” she explained.

Jenna then admitted that during a mother-son FaceTime call with Hal earlier that morning, she spoke in somewhat graphic terms without thinking about his C-section arrival.

“I Facetimed him this morning and I said, ‘Hal, you know, in an hour, four years ago, you cut my stomach?!”

“And he says, ‘Cut out of your stomach?!'” Jenna continued, furrowing her face in mock horror to imitate Hal’s reaction to the gory image.

The impression sent Hoda into hysterics. “First of all, you’re so literal,” she said of Jenna’s choice of language, bursting into laughter at the anecdote.

The former first daughter went on to say that Hal would be having a Paw Patrol themed birthday party later that day.

Jenna also shared a series of images on her Instagram Stories to celebrate the occasion.

“Happiest fourth birthday to our love,” she captioned a black and white photo of the mother and son embracing.

Alongside another photo of her pressing her nose to Hal’s cheek, Jenna joked in the accompanying caption, “I love being face to face with you my love.”

Hal has two older sisters: Mila, 10, and Poppy, seven, whom Jenna shares with her businessman husband Henry Hager.

As DailyMail.com previously reported, Mila returned from summer camp in late July.

For the third year in a row, Mila spent three weeks at Camp Longhorn, located on Inks Lake in the Texas Hill Country – where Jenna and her twin sister Barbara also spent their summers as kids.

As a nod to her own childhood, Jenna also took to Instagram to share three adorable photos of her and Barbara enjoying their childhood.

Jenna shared the sweetly nostalgic snaps ‘in honor of’ her August pick for the Today Show book club: Judy Blume’s Summer Sisters.

“Here’s me and my OG summer sister!!” Jenna stated warmly in the caption.
