Jenna Bush Hager gloats that she ‘won Christmas’ after surprising mom Laura with a Dyson vacuum – so she can clean up after HER kids when they visit

Jenna Bush Hager has told how she 'won Christmas' after buying her mum a Dyson vacuum cleaner – to clean up after her own three children when they went to visit grandma.

The Today star traveled with her husband, Henry Hager, and their children, Mila, Poppy and Hal, to her home state of Texas to spend the holidays with her parents, former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.

Her twin sister, Barbara Pierce Bush, was also there with her husband, Craig Coyne, and their daughter, Cora Georgia, for the family festivities.

Bush Hager, 42, talked about their visit and her mother's surprise gift while catching up with her co-host Hoda Kotb, 59, during the morning show on Monday.

“We had a really good holiday,” she said of her family's holiday. “It was just time to get out and get in.” Texas, which we love. It was good. It was relaxing.

'I gave my mother a Dyson, so I won Christmas,” she added. 'She was so happy with it.'

Bush Hager shared a photo of her smiling mother posing with her new cordless Dyson vacuum cleaner, which costs around $1,000 depending on the version.

“At first she was resistant because they always wiped, and that's the way we do things, but every year my kids spilled so much,” she explained.

“My dad was sweeping it on the ground and I thought, 'You know what they need? A Dyson.'

“To clean up after your own children,” Kotb chimed in.

Bush Hager said everywhere they went that week they saw someone using a Dyson, much to her mother's delight.

“She said, 'I've got a Dyson!'” she recalled. “And it turns out I won Christmas.”

The former first daughter also shared how she got dressed and blow-dried her hair to go out on New Year's Eve with her husband and children.

“We went out, which we never do,” she told Kotb.

“If you look at that photo, Mila was absolutely disgusted with her parents,” she joked about her eldest daughter's reaction. “So that's how we started 2024.”

Kotb shared that she also had a “good Christmas” with her daughters, Haley and Hope, and said they spent the holidays at their beach house on Long Island.

One of the highlights was the blow-up snowman that they mounted on their back deck after arriving.

“We blew that bad boy up,” she explained. “When you plug it in, it explodes and at night it lights up, lighting up the entire bedroom.”

“Is he still there?” Bush Hager asked.

“He might be. Nobody knows,” Kotb joked.

“Let's be clear: I bet he'll be around until at least February. Bush Hager told her co-star, who laughed in agreement.

“He's celebrating Valentine's Day with all of you. There's no doubt about it – unless it blows away.'

Kotb added that she gifted her mother and daughter necklaces engraved with the words “I love you to the moon and back.”

The mother of two explained that the gifts were especially special because she writes them on her daughters' notes every morning.
