Jeffrey Epstein prison guard who was ‘napping and shopping online’ when millionaire pedophile killed himself in his cell faces charges of assault by female colleague at new job in New York

A former federal prison guard who “slept and surfed the Internet” while guarding pedophile Jeffrey Epstein the night he killed himself in prison is accused of assaulting a co-worker at her new job.

Tova Noel, 35, was arrested for lying in prison to make it appear she had made required checks on the disgraced financier before he was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correction Center in Manhattan in August 2019 .

Epstein, who was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, committed suicide just 15 feet from the prison guards’ desk and the two cameras outside his cell malfunctioned.

Noel agreed to a plea deal two years ago to avoid jail time and started a new job as a medical office assistant at Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care in Westchester.

But her co-worker Mayda Roman, 52, is suing her for assault, according to court documents filed Friday in Westchester County Superior Court, seen by The New York Post. She is seeking unspecified damages.

Noel started her new role in September and medical assistant Roman was in charge of training her and the pair immediately fell out.

During her first week, the former prison guard became “touristy” on Roman, who takes medication for ADHD and is prone to interrupting, according to court documents.

Noel is said to have punched the victim ‘very hard’ in the left arm after she was interrupted.

Roman later became “extremely worried and afraid of Noel,” the lawsuit said.

It adds that Noel “lay hands” on Roman again last month and “forcefully pulled” Roman by his ear, “got in her face and shouted, ‘You’re not listening!’ in the presence of colleagues’.

However, the incidents were not captured on surveillance cameras at the medical facility because they were “malfunctioning,” the lawsuit alleges.

Noel, who is black, allegedly “falsely accused” Roman, who is Hispanic, of being racist because she asked about a new patient’s race, as she is expected to do in her role.

Both women met with human resources on October 18, where Roman brought up the physical abuse.

But company officials suspended her and fired her a week later while Noel was still employed.

“I don’t like trouble and I really enjoyed the work,” she said, before calling Noel a “bully” and a “liar.”

Roman added that she didn’t know who Noel was until she was fired and she searched her name online.

“My client is a hardworking mother who did not deserve this,” said her attorney Christopher Berlingieri.

Noel admitted to falsifying records after Epstein’s death and a Manhattan judge ordered criminal charges against her and second guard Michael Thomas dropped.

The pair were supposed to check on Epstein every 30 minutes, but ran errands online and took breaks instead.
