Jeffrey Epstein bragged about a lunch meeting with Elon Musk in 2012
Jeffrey Epstein bragged about meeting Elon Musk in 2012 in a previously unknown encounter between the two.
DailyMail.com can reveal that the late pedophile said he met the richest man in the world that year at the TED conference in Long Beach, California.
Epstein told an acquaintance that he had just had lunch with Musk and Boris Nikolic, Bill Gates’ former science adviser whom the financier named as executor.
The details emerged weeks after Musk was subpoenaed by the US Virgin Islands government over his ties to the pedophile.
Jeffrey Epstein and Elon Musk met for lunch in 2012, DailyMail.com can reveal. The meeting was after Epstein served a 13-month prison sentence for admitting to recruiting a minor into prostitution and was labeled a registered sex offender
Jeffrey Epstein’s February 2012 email to an acquaintance, who declined to be named, read: “Just finished lunch with Boris (Nikolic) and (Elon) Musk.”

The subpoena suggested Epstein played a role in Musk’s businesses, such as Tesla’s banking with JPMorgan.
Musk dismissed the suggestion on Twitter, saying it was “idiot on so many levels.”
But the 2012 email suggests the men were closer than previously thought, even though Epstein had by then served 13 months in prison for recruiting a minor into prostitution.
As part of the terms of his release, Epstein was required to become a registered sex offender, but he continued to meet powerful and well-connected men.
TED2012 was themed ‘Full Spectrum’ and ran from February 27 to March 2 of that year in Long Beach and Palm Springs, California.
Speakers included poets, photographers, climatologists, and Harvard psychologist Steven Pinker, who was listed as flying on one of Epstein’s planes and photographed with him in 2014.
Dated February 28, 2012, Epstein’s email to an acquaintance read, “Just finished lunch with Boris (Nikolic) and (Elon) Musk. Will be at the Westin (hotel) in about 30 minutes.”

A source told DailyMail.com, “If you moved in those circles around that time, you would see Epstein at events like this.
‘No one really knew what he was doing, but he was very interested in people and networking.
A source described Epstein as a “prolific name dropper” and would mention he was friends with Prince Andrew, among others
“He hosted these salon-style events at his home, where he invited half a dozen people, and then held court.
“I’ve seen some reports of him making crude jokes, but he could be very charming and if he was interested in what you had to say he would ask questions or just sit back and listen as people talk to each other.
The source described Epstein as a “prolific name dropper” and would mention that he was regularly friends with the likes of Ehud Barak.
According to the source, “Epstein would say something like he was staying at Sandringham with Prince Andrew or going shooting with him. It did impress some of the guests.’
Previous reports have shown that Musk interacted with Epstein or his associates on other occasions around this time.
In 2011, Musk dined with Epstein as part of a “billionaires’ dinner” hosted by a friend of his, along with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Google co-founder Sergey Brin, among others.
Three years later, in 2014, he was photographed with Epstein’s Ms. Ghislaine Maxwell at a Vanity Fair Oscars after-party.
When the photo resurfaced in 2020, Musk said he didn’t know her at all and claimed she “photobombed” him.
However, a New York Times report contradicted this, saying that a Vanity Fair employee at the time said they had seen Musk and Maxwell talking.
Maxwell allegedly asked if there was a way to “remove himself from the internet” and encouraged Musk to “destroy the internet.”
After that, Maxwell asked why aliens haven’t made contact with humanity yet.
A 2019 report from Vanity Fair said Musk attended a dinner in Palo Alto, California hosted by LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman a few years earlier.

Among the guests were MIT neuroscientist Ed Boyden and Epstein, the report claimed. Vanity Fair said Musk introduced Epstein to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg during the evening.
A spokesperson for Zuckerberg said at the time that he “met Epstein once at a dinner ‘celebrating scientists’ that was not hosted by Epstein.”
In the same article, Musk provided his most complete accounting to date of his dealings with Epstein.
Musk said, “I don’t remember introducing Epstein to anyone since I don’t know the guy well enough to do that, obviously Epstein is a creep and Zuckerberg isn’t a friend of mine.
Several years ago, I was at his house in Manhattan with Talulah (Riley, his ex-girlfriend) for about 30 minutes in the middle of the afternoon because she was curious about meeting this strange person for a novel she was writing. We didn’t see anything inappropriate at all apart from weird art. He repeatedly tried to get me to visit his island. I refused’.
A spokesman for Musk added: “Elon has never introduced Jeffrey Epstein to Mark Zuckerberg and does not know either person well enough to do so. They happened to be guests at a neuroscience dinner hosted by Reid Hoffman.
Last month, the USVI subpoenaed Musk as part of its investigation into Epstein’s sex trafficking operation — prosecutors charged JPMorgan with turning a blind eye and facilitating the abuse
Musk responded to the subpoena in a tweet last month
In May of this year, the USVI subpoenaed Musk as part of its investigation into Epstein’s sex trafficking operation — prosecutors are suing JPMorgan for condoning and facilitating the abuse.
The legal request asked for: “Any documents reflecting or relating to communications between you and JPMorgan regarding Epstein or Epstein’s role with respect to your accounts, transactions, or financial management.”
Musk fired back on Twitter, saying, “1. That idiot never advised me on anything. 2. The idea that I would need or listen to financial advice from a dumb scammer is absurd. 3. JPM abandoned Tesla ten years ago, despite having Tesla’s global commercial banking business, which we then retired. I never forgave them.’
Musk did not elaborate on exactly how his companies came to bank with JPMorgan and whether he was introduced to anyone at the bank by Epstein.
A spokeswoman for Musk previously said, “It is incorrect to say that Epstein ever advised Elon on anything.”
Among the other links between Musk and Epstein was a 2020 report from Insider that alleged that the pedophile had introduced Musk’s younger brother Kimbal to a woman in his entourage.
The thinking was that the relationship would help keep Musk close to Epstein, Insider claimed.
Indeed, Kimbal and the woman dated from 2011 to 2012 and Insider claimed that Epstein toured a SpaceX facility in 2012 – SpaceX denied this.
DailyMail.com contacted SpaceX and Tesla, but received no response.
Twitter’s press office did not respond to requests for comment and instead sent an automated laughing poop emoji.
