Jeff Stelling has been ‘shocked and saddened’ by the news that Sky Sports is set to cut jobs as Geoff Shreeves risks losing his job with the company.
It was previously reported that Shreeves could be in danger of losing his job with Sky considering further cuts in a major shakeup.
This comes after the news that Soccer AM is in the scrap after almost 30 years on the air on Sky.
Stelling, who has presented on Sky since 1994, is understood to be shocked by the possible dismissal of colleagues like Shreeves.
The 68-year-old told Sky bosses he will remain the presenter of Soccer Saturday but told friends he was saddened by the recent news, according to The times.

The report goes on to reveal that Stelling was not consulted as part of the proposed reorganization at Sky.
Sky have now launched a consultation process which could lead to 13 football reporters including Shreeves needing to reapply for their jobs as some are expected to lose their roles.
Stelling walked away from Sky when he announced his retirement from football media before reversing this decision in March last year.
