Jeff Stelling congratulated his fellow announcer Laura Woods on her work after announcing her departure as host of talkSPORT’s Sports Breakfast show on Wednesday.

Woods, who ran the show for three years after taking over from previous host Alan Brazil, said she would miss “Spurs fans” even after hosting her last show on Wednesday, June 28.

The 35-year-old is making time for a role that has earned her multiple awards, including Best Speech Breakfast Show at ARIAS 2021.

Mail Sport revealed that Woods is lined up for TNT Sports’ revamped coverage of the Champions League next season, when BT Sport undergoes its summer rebrand.

In April, Stelling announced that Soccer Saturday’s rerun of the 2022-23 season would be its last as host, and the legendary broadcaster presented its final edition on the last day of the season.

Stelling has been associated with the program for 29 years and participated for the first time when the program ran as Sports Saturday in 1994.

The 68-year-old initially announced his retirement in October 2021, but in March of the following year, Stelling reversed his decision to stay for another season.
