Announcement: The 43-year-old father of two, who is a TV star and life coach, shared the news in a social media post.
On Instagram, Jeff said: “I have a lot to be grateful for and appreciate facing the lessons I need to grow, but this year has been challenging to say the least.”
“My nine-year relationship ended at the beginning of the year and I have been working on that as well as supporting someone close to me who is going through something difficult.
“The kids and I have recently moved to a new area and I spend most of my time alone as the kids obviously have their own stuff.
“There have been constant changes this year and I am good at adapting, but the combination of things has left me down at times.
Difficulties: The couple got married in September 2018, but experienced some issues in late 2019, with Jeff admitting that they were working out their issues.
Honestly, I had never felt loneliness like that. Can we push Christmas back a few months?
He said: ‘I have a lot of great friends and I know they are just a phone call away, but sometimes I find it hard to admit that I am struggling.
‘I have to reconnect with friends who have supported me, surviving 14 years of my focus elsewhere.
“I know many of us find it easier to support than to be supported, but here’s a better balance of the two in 2023, we need it and we deserve it.”
In June 2020, Jeff had said that their marriage was stronger than ever after going through a difficult time before the pandemic and was seen without his wedding ring.
But Jeff had said that the couple had returned as a result of spending more time together, telling them HELLO! magazine that they were able to ‘pause and reset’ their marriage.
He explained at the time: ‘Now we’re a million times better because we take the time to invest in ourselves.
“I’m very proud that we’ve both gotten to the point where things are more direct, simpler, and easier than they’ve ever been between us.”
“We are strongest during the two months we spend together with time to focus on each other. Kate and I had a chance to hit pause and restart.
Kate had added: ‘For us, day by day, we’ve realized how much we love each other’s company. Marriage isn’t always easy and our struggles were often because we didn’t see each other. Now we are stronger than ever.
The year before, media personality Jeff opened up about the concerns he had with his marriage.
He told MailOnline at the time: “Being married makes you feel more stable, but life doesn’t feel much different because Kate has a wonderful career in public relations where she works very hard and long hours…
‘So it’s still just me and the kids at home a bit. I’m not sure if we will have children. I’m just as happy whether we do or not, and I’m glad to be patient and let Kate figure all that out.
