Jeff Brazier left after he and his son Freddie had a very tense argument, just hours into their month-long journey for the Celebrity Race Across The World.
During Wednesday’s opening episode, the 45-year-old TV presenter was furious after the 19-year-old claimed the family were not speaking openly to each other and that was why he was “keeping his mouth shut”.
Freddie decided not to tell his father that he wanted food from the cafe, so Jeff tried to reassure him by saying that they should split their budget.
Saying: ‘You don’t have to do things in silence, it just makes life easier for us as a family if we’re all honest’
Freddie interrupted: ‘I don’t think we’re even open as a family. I’m staying quiet because I feel like everyone else is.

During Wednesday’s opening episode, the 45-year-old TV presenter was left furious after the 19-year-old claimed the family didn’t speak openly to each other and that’s why he ‘keeps his mouth shut’
Jeff angrily asked, “Are you kidding me? Freddie, don’t be unfair, what have I been doing for the last seven or eight years?”
“Talk,” Freddie replied, smiling nervously.
Jeff responded curtly, “Well, don’t say I don’t do it, take responsibility, that’s part of it!” before walking away, leaving his son alone at the table.
Jeff shares Freddie and Bobby, 21, with the late Big Brother legend Jade Goody, who died in 2009 at the age of 27 from cervical cancer.
Earlier in the episode, he revealed that he signed up for the show in an effort to help his youngest son gain “more self-esteem.”
Freddie turned out to be alive and while it was “cute,” Jeff said he would need an “exit plan” soon. Freddie admitted, “I still need my dad.”
Jeff then candidly told the camera, “I’ve seen my son struggle, I know he needs more purpose, self-esteem and confidence.”
Addition: ‘So something like [Celebrity Race Across The World]We will of course seize this opportunity with both hands.
Freddie said in between: ‘I don’t think we’re open as a family at all, I’m staying quiet because I feel like everyone else is’
Jeff snapped, “Take responsibility, that’s part of it!” before storming off, leaving his son alone at the table
Jeff has sons Freddie, 19, and Bobby, 21, with the late Big Brother legend Jade Goody, who died in 2009 at the age of 27 after a battle with cervical cancer.
The teenager – whose brother stars in EastEnders and reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing last year – admitted he’s not entirely sure what the future holds for him.
He said, ‘No, I’m still figuring out what I’m going to do with my life.
‘I think that’s quite difficult. Who is Freddie Brazier? I don’t know, but I hope the race helps me discover who I am.’
Jeff also shared that he was most looking forward to spending some time with his son as they starred on the reality travel show alongside a host of other celebrities.
He said, “What I’m most looking forward to is I feel like I’m going to learn a lot more about my son.
‘He’s not home often and so I don’t see him often, but the great thing about this trip is that he’s with me and he can’t shake me off.’
Jeff also joked that Freddie is “not the best decision maker” when he told his son on camera that he had gone off to meet a girl instead of packing his bags for their trip.
He said, “One of those moments was last night when you were supposed to be packing for our trip, but instead you went on a trip to see a girl. Classic Fred.”
In this grueling show, teams of two race across a specific area of the world, using any mode of transportation that doesn’t allow air travel.
Before the first episode, Jeff said The Daily Star column in the HOTTV newspaper: ‘I wanted to participate because travelling is an absolute privilege, but also to share it with my son and to be able to capture those memories.

When Freddie heard that his youngest still lives at home, he admitted: ‘I still need my dad’

“He’s not a kid anymore, he’s a young adult. I feel like at some point he’s going to leave home and I’m going to lose him. So I guess I’m just trying to squeeze every last bit out of him that I can.”
Meanwhile Freddie said: It will be nice to spend that time with Dad, just me and my dad.
‘Dad has a busy life, he works a lot and there are not many moments when we do something alone together.
‘But when we do, I’m really lucky, whether it’s a trip to the cinema or the driving range, it’s all good.
