Jeff Bezos puts finishing touches on his $175million Beverly Hills mega-mansion including a reef-themed swimming pool and a tennis court

Jeff Bezos has put the finishing touches on his $175 million mega-mansion in Beverly Hills, which features a reef-themed pool and large outdoor tennis courts.

Aerial images of the Amazon founder’s sprawling estate reveal recent updates in the ongoing construction process over the past four years, yet the home still appears to be a work in progress.

Recent updates include the installation of private basketball and tennis courts, as well as elaborately designed tropical-themed swimming pools.

Bezos, whose staggering net worth is nearly $200 billion, acquired the massive 10-acre estate, previously owned by former Warner Bros. president Jack Warner, in early 2020.

Construction came to a brief halt in April 2023, when Bezos failed to submit a planning application for a new ‘playfield fence’, but resumed shortly afterwards in May.

It consists of a three-storey main building, a guest house, a gym, a pergola and a guard house.

But in April last year it was announced that the mega-mansion extension had been put on hold indefinitely after Bezos failed to submit a planning application for a new ‘playfield fence’.

Bezos planned to expand the property with a new pool house, powder room and retaining walls.

An initial request was granted in 2021, but Bezos submitted a new request to add a ‘playfield fence with lighting’ in January this year, but this was rejected because the paperwork was incomplete.

The original application called for adding approximately 1,000 square feet to the 28,000-square-foot mansion. However, within just a month, construction resumed.

The mega-mansion is just part of Bezos’ broad real estate profile, worth an estimated $600 million, as he splits his time between properties with Sanchez.

The purchase set a real estate record in Los Angeles before being beaten by Marc Andreessen, who paid $177 million for a seven-acre estate in Malibu the following year.

The record was previously held by media executive Lachlan Murdoch, who paid $150 million for a Bel-Air estate known for his appearance on the 1960s TV show “The Beverly Hillbillies.”

The same year he paid $10 million for the house next door.

He owns four separate apartments in an Art Deco block on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

Three of the apartments in the complex at 25 Central Park West were repurchased in 2019 for a reported $80 million.

He then paid $16 million for a fourth unit this spring at the height of the pandemic in 2020.

The 1912 building features a fitness center, yoga studio, treatment room, game room, game room and movie room.

In 2016, he also dropped $23 million on a mega-mansion in Washington DC, three years after buying the Washington Post.

The building – located in the chic Kalorama district – used to be the Textile Museum.

It’s in the same neighborhood where the Obamas, Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump lived.

Bezos – the third richest man in the world – spent three years expanding the property, which had 11 bedrooms and 25 bathrooms at the time of completion.

The mogul stepped down as chairman of Amazon in 2021.

Bezos paid $165 million for this 13,600-square-foot Georgian-style mansion in 2020, which set an LA record at the time.

The three-bedroom, four-bathroom home, originally built by architect Sumner Spalding in 1930, was last listed in 2018 at a cost of $5.45 million.

Since then, the property has undergone an extensive renovation, completed by the design team that also worked on Justin Bieber’s Beverly Hills pad.

Listing photos taken prior to the makeover show that the light and airy home features a large kitchen and several spacious living areas, complete with original fireplaces.
