Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez quietly SCRAPS self-funded $2 MILLION movie after beleaguered thriller failed to get picked up – with even the billionaire’s own Amazon Prime neglecting to take it on

Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos’ $2 million self-financed feature debut, Lauren Sanchez, has been quietly scrapped after numerous issues during filming.

The 54-year-old former TV presenter embarked on the project, called The Golden Door, in 2022 and even enlisted her partner’s teenage daughter for a cameo role in the psychological thriller.

But any movie buff clamoring for a very rare glimpse of Bezos’ infamously private daughter — whom he shares with ex MacKenzie Scott and whose name has never even been revealed to the public — will be sorely disappointed.

It now appears that the project has been permanently shelved and has not been picked up by a single network or streamer, with not even Bezos’ own Amazon Prime adding the film to its roster.

But not long after the project launched, it was hit by several controversies, amid reports of “chaos” on set and a slew of staff departures.

The director of photography left a week after the twenty-day shoot and in week three the assistant director also left. Then, in November 2022, director Kellie Madison also left, after turning in a final cut that reportedly left some dissatisfied.

DailyMail.com has reached out to representatives for Sanchez.

A report on the entertainment news website Puk suggested that Sanchez was a “rare and – to some, unwelcome – presence on set,” alleging that she made several diva-like demands, including “asking if she could land her private helicopter on set while the cast and crew were concerned about basic safety protocols.”

“Suffice to say, Sanchez didn’t make many friends by maintaining a relatively lavish trailer while others were sweltering,” Puck claimed.

She was also labeled as ‘inexperienced’, but sources known to the star have responded to the criticism.

They countered that she had lent her jewelry to the actors, offered them the use of her helicopter to capture aerial footage, and in effect shared her elaborate trailer with the film’s other producers.

“Lauren has worked with Christopher Nolan and Catherine Hardwicke, she is certainly not inexperienced,” an insider said Page six back in March 2023.

‘Of course Lauren wanted to ask if she could use her helicopter to take aerial shots. She was involved – she even brought her own jewelry for the actors to wear on film.

“As for the lavish trailer, it was a 30-foot Star Waggon, a one-room trailer that she shared with all the producers.

‘It’s just sexist; Lauren has been producing for a long time, just not in feature films. She’s a Latin woman who financed an all-female film, and that’s no small feat.”

However, the sources admitted that the shoot involved “more drama than she was used to” and admitted that it was unclear whether this could actually be her first and last venture into film.

“It’s a $2 million budget movie and there were a lot of newbies on set, new producers and semi-new directors. There was definitely more drama on set than Lauren is used to,” they said.

The film was shot in Topanga, California, over a twenty-day shoot in the summer of 2022, and starred Chris Rock’s ex-girlfriend Megalyn Echikunwoke and Daniella Kertesz, famous for her role in World War Z.

A production insider also told Page Six that the photographer’s director was forced to leave during the first week of production because he was “not feeling the director’s creative vibe.”

In week three the deputy director also left and both were replaced.

Meanwhile, director Madison is said to have left the project after handing in her final cut in November.

Sanchez, a one-time news anchor, has her own successful aerial film company, Black Ops Aviation.

The film was produced by her own company, Adventure & Fellowship.

Bezos, 59, shares three sons with ex-wife Scott, as they adopted their daughter from China.

They have managed to keep their lives largely private, while the young girl’s name is still unknown.

The Amazon CEO announced his divorce from Scott in April 2019 after 25 years of marriage.

In the settlement, Scott became the richest woman in the world after receiving a four percent stake in Amazon worth $35.8 billion.

Bezos shared a statement at the time, calling MacKenzie an “extraordinary partner, ally and mother.”

But soon afterwards he was rocked by allegations that he had had an eight-month affair with Sanchez, who was then married to her talent manager Patrick Whitesell.

The National Enquirer magazine had been investigating the case for eight months, with reporters following them “through five states and 40,000 miles as they enjoyed private jets, fancy limousines, helicopter rides, romantic strolls, hideaways in five-star hotels and intimate dinner dates.”

It was claimed at the time that Bezos only announced his divorce after being informed of the publication of the Enquirer story.

Scott has since married and divorced again to chemistry teacher Dan Jewett, who worked at her children’s school.

The two married in March 2021, two years after Bezos’ affair came to light.

Scott filed for divorce from Jewett in September 2022.
