Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos ‘is considering selling the Washington Post to buy the Commanders’…as embattled NFL owner Dan Snyder seeks to sell for ‘more than $7 BILLION’ amid investigation ongoing sexual harassment

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is reportedly set to cash in on the Washington Post newspaper in a bid to buy the NFL’s Washington Commanders.

The billionaire bought the Washington Post in 2013 for $250 million, but the New York Post now reports that Bezos is “seeking to clear the way” to get the Commanders from embattled owner Dan Snyder.

It was reported in December that there was a deadline on any offer for the Commanders, with the team expected to be valued in the region of $5.5-6.5 million.

Washington Commanders owners Tanya Snyder, left, and Dan Snyder on the field before the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Washington Commanders 25-10 at AT&T Stadium on October 2.

Snyder, along with his wife and co-CEO Tanya, announced Nov. 2 that they have hired Bank of America Securities to explore potential transactions, but did not specify whether they are looking to sell all or just part of the team.

A leaked video of a town hall meeting of Washington Post employees, showing a discussion about impending layoffs, raised suspicions that Bezos might leave his property.

Publisher Fred Ryan was heard telling staff layoffs will occur during the first quarter of 2023.

A Bezos spokesperson told the New York Post that the Washington Post is not for sale.

but last week Front Office Sports reported sources said Bank of America executives are “wooing Bezos” over the possibility of an acquisition.

Bezos, valued at $124 billion, is the second richest person in the United States.

The Snyders explore the possibility of selling the team, to the liking of many fans

NBC Sports Washington last week detailed that the sale of the team “will be over soon,” but since Bezos has reportedly yet to make an offer, they added that the Snyders’ “preference” is not to sell the Amazon founder.

Bezos has immense wealth and purchasing power, so it will be an interesting test for the Snyders if he makes a bid for the team, which was XX last season.

However, Jay Z is far less likely to join Bezos in his bid.

Despite previous reports to the contrary, a source close to the rapper told DailyMail.com last month that Jay Z is not expected to be involved in any purchases.
