Jedward star Edward Grimes is left ‘shaken’ after his mobile phone was robbed in broad daylight as singer admits ‘my whole life is on there’

Jedwards’ Edward Grimes has been left ‘shocked’ after being robbed by a ‘phone-stealing ring’ in London.

The Irish singer, 33, took to his and his twin brothers’ joint Instagram account on Wednesday to warn his followers before giving them all an update shortly afterwards.

He wrote: ‘Hi, it’s Edward. Someone stole my phone, so if anyone tries to contact me, don’t worry because I’m really shocked right now!’

‘My whole life takes place there. I’m very grateful to have John now, but I can no longer be contacted.’

In a separate post, Edward provided another update, writing: ‘The shop I was robbed at has the two criminal thieves on camera, hopefully we can get them arrested and justice will be done and we will tackle this phone stealing ring in London. ‘

‘My heart sank! Thank you for your kind messages.’

However, this is not the first time he has been targeted with his phone in London. Last year he was also shocked when two masked men tried to rob him.

The singer shared his terrifying experience on X at the time and told his followers to be on their guard in the capital.

He said, ‘Be careful everyone. Two masked guys tried to rob me on my bike while I was on the phone!’

‘Apparently shocked, but didn’t expect it! It seems like it’s happening all over London.’

Edward added: ‘Felt my wrist and arm being grabbed from behind. It all happened so quickly and I didn’t have John next to me!’

‘I would hate for this to happen to anyone else and make them feel vulnerable.’

The singer rose to fame alongside his twin brother John as part of double act Jedward on the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009.

However, this is not the first time he has been targeted for his phone in London, as last year he was also shocked when two masked men tried to rob him.

After finishing in sixth place, they released four studio albums, the first two of which went double platinum in Ireland.

The divisive double act represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest for two consecutive years, in 2011 and 2012.

Earlier this year, Jedward became embroiled in a vicious war of words with their former mentor Louis Walsh after he branded the twins ‘despicable’ on Celebrity Big Brother.

In response, Jedward called the music manager, 71, an “evil manipulator.”

While they may no longer have Louis’ support, the twins have been meeting a lot of A-stars lately.

In July, the reality stars came across Katy Perry and couldn’t resist filming a fun video with the star.

The pop duo burst into Katy’s hit single I Kissed A Girl as she turned around and wiggled her bum at the camera.

In a second clip, the trio were in good spirits as they danced and sang to the star’s new song Lifetimes from her upcoming album 143.

Katy later took to the stage at London nightclub The Box and danced with Jedward while enjoying a cocktail.

Jedward wrote on social media: ‘Love our girl @katyperry 143 new album sounds absolute. Jepic can’t wait for everyone to hear it.’

Katy also shared a clip, adding: ‘These 143 playbacks have really evolved into full-blown parties. ⁠Love you London can’t wait for you to hear the rest of 143!’

In recent months, reality star duo Jedward have been linked to several A-stars, including Rebel Wilson and Ed Sheeran.

The pair were seen beaming backstage for photos ahead of Pitch Perfect actress Rebel’s London Palladium show earlier this year.

John and Edward also previously celebrated ’10 years of friendship’ with Bad Habits singer Ed, as they shared a photo gallery with the star.

They wrote: ‘More than 10 years of friendship @teddysphotos JedSheeran Forever. Great to see you rocking Dublin and us partying with the Jepic vibes.”

The duo are also known to be close friends with TOWIE star Gemma Collins and American Pie actress Tara Reid, who they met on Celebrity Big Brother 13 years ago.
