Jealous ex-boyfriend shoots dead mother of seven, 39, at Chick-fil-A drive-thru in Georgia before shooting himself

  • Cassie Davis, 39, was brutally murdered around 7am on Wednesday morning
  • The shooter and jealous ex Anthony Green, 56, then turned the gun on himself
  • Davis’ grieving mother said her daughter told her that her ex followed her a day before she was shot

A mother of seven, 39, was brutally murdered by her “jealous ex-boyfriend” — who then turned the gun on herself — while eating breakfast at the Chick-fil-A drive-thru in Georgia.

Cassie Davis was at the Truett’s Chick-fil-A on Rome’s Shorter Avenue around 7 a.m. Wednesday when her deranged ex-partner Anthony Green shot her in broad daylight.

Davis was shot three times with a revolver. Her devastated family said Davis revealed a day earlier that Green “wouldn’t leave her alone.”

Tributes poured for the Georgia mom who was described as having “not a mean bone in her body.”

Kathie Walters, Davis’s devastated mother, told the story Fox 5 Atlanta that Green had “followed her” despite not being together anymore.

Rome police have called the shooting an apparent murder-suicide.

They said that after Davis was shot, her vehicle, which was parked in the drive-thru driveway, rolled off an embankment, according to The independent.

Green and Davis, both residents of Rome, are said to have had a domestic relationship in the past, according to the news outlet.

Davis’s family described Green as a jealous person who couldn’t let Davis go, but they admitted they never thought he would kill her.

They said she was “loving and caring and would give anyone the shirt off her back,” 11 Alive News reported.

Walter said, “It seems like a dream … I just want to wake up.”

Walters said her daughter, whose children range in age from 5 to 18 years old, was “a good mother of seven.”

Effie Wilson, Davis’s distraught aunt, believes her nieces’ murder was senseless.

“No one thinks anymore, they’re killing children, they’re killing adults,” she said.

She added, “There were more women, there was no point in taking her.”

Chick-fil-A restaurant General Manager Greg Major, shaken by the morning tragedy, issued a statement.

“We are currently working with the police who are investigating. No other guests or team members were injured, but we are grieving with the community,” said Major.

“We closed the restaurant for a day to repair and care for the team members. Thank you for your patience during this time; we plan to reopen tomorrow.”

Police also confirmed that Chick-fil-A had nothing to do with the incident.

The restaurant where the fatal shooting took place was the same location once frequented by Chick-fil-A chairman Dan Cathy, Law & Crime reported.
