The 38-year-old wife of Donald Trump’s running mate said in a statement to Puck News that Vance’s eyelashes are “all natural.” “I’ve always been jealous of those lashes.”
Vance’s piercing blue eyes and good looks have drawn attention to him as the presidential election approaches, partly because Trump himself has frequently commented on the 40-year-old Republican’s appearance.
A few days before choosing Vance as his running mate, Trump pondered the appearance of his leading candidates.
“He looks like a young Abraham Lincoln,” Trump said in an interview on Fox News Radio early last month, in which he discussed Vance’s beard.

“Does J.D. Vance Wear Eyeliner?” read the headline in Slate late last month. The entire piece was complimentary about his eyes, as it took a deep dive into the possibility that Vance wears eyeliner. The author concluded that he probably doesn’t.
A search for “JD Vance” and “eyeliner” on X results in a series of tweets questioning whether the GOP VP candidate wears makeup, with close-up photos of the 40-year-old’s face. A search on Instagram yields similar results.
If his wife openly speaks out, it could put an end to the ongoing online debate.

Usha Vance has been campaigning with her husband at several campaign rallies around the country since she was named Trump’s running mate. In public, however, she has remained mostly silent, apart from an interview with Fox News.
But the relatively private mother of three has been a defender of her husband as he has come under scrutiny not only for his image but also after a series of past comments he made about childless women came to light, drawing fierce backlash.
Vance has defended her husband’s “childless cat lady” comments from 2021. She told Fox News that the way her husband and his comments have been portrayed are “not accurate” and said the criticism is “not the JD I know.”
She dismissed the negative press, saying she has “got used to it and developed a thick skin.”
Her husband has been pursuing Vice President Kamala Harris and new running mate Tim Walz through crucial states as they present their new ticket to voters across the country.
