Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown says he will miss the final two games of the regular season but expects to be ready in time for the start of the playoffs after a freak accident at home cut off a finger on his shooting hand .
Brown told reporters Friday night before a game against Toronto that he cut his hand on a glass vase on Thursday night and had to undergo five stitches.
He was wearing a protective wrap and expects to be confined for at least the next two days.
According to The Athletic’s Jared Weiss, Brown said he cut his hand “picking up a glass vase he knocked over while watering his plants on Thursday.”
Marcus Smart (neck spasm) and Malcolm Brogdon (back) were also out on Friday.

Coach Joe Mazzulla said he doesn’t expect the injuries to be a permanent thing heading into the postseason.
Brown was named to his second All-Star team this season – his second such selection in the past three seasons.
He averaged the second most points per game over the Celtics—with 26.6 per game in addition to 6.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Boston, which is locked in the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, will host Atlanta in the regular-season Finals on Sunday.
