Jay-Z was noticeably absent from Beyonce’s NFL show on Christmas Day, amid swirling allegations that he raped a 13-year-old girl with Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The Netflix halftime show at NRG Stadium during the Houston Texas vs. Baltimore Ravens game highlighted Beyonce’s first appearance since the accusations against her husband came to light.
Jay-Z, 55, real name Shawn Corey Carter, is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl with Combs, 55, at a VMA after-party in 2000. Both men have denied the allegations.
He was notably MIA during Beyonce’s halftime performance on Wednesday night, which also featured their eldest child, Blue Ivy Carter.
Jay-Z likely secured the television broadcast for Beyonce, as executive producer of entertainment events for the NFL, including the famous show.

Beyonce and Jay-Z – worth a combined $3 billion – first met in 1998, and they share three children: Blue Ivy Carter, Rumi Carter and Sir Carter.
It comes as Jay-Z became the first celebrity named alongside Diddy in one of the numerous lawsuits filed against Combs earlier this month.
The unnamed victim in the lawsuit previously referred to the rapper, whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter, as “Celebrity A” in the bombshell complaint, which also involved an as-yet-unnamed female star known as “Celebrity B.”
Her attorney, Tony Buzbee, who represents more than a hundred alleged Diddy victims, has now also named Jay-Z as the celebrity who allegedly “filed a frivolous case under a pseudonym” against the accuser’s legal team.
The Texas-based lawyer claimed that Jay-Z had ‘attempted to bully and harass’ him and his client over the incident which allegedly took place at a VMA after-party in 2000 – but this has backfired by causing them’ to encourage’ to take the matter to court.
“Concerning the Jay-Z case and his attempts to silence my clients, Mr. Carter previously denied being the one who sued me and my firm,” Buzbee said in a statement.
‘He filed his frivolous case under a pseudonym. What he fails to say in his recent statement is that my firm sent his attorney a demand letter on behalf of an alleged victim, and that victim never demanded a dime from him.
“Instead, she merely requested confidential mediation. Since I sent the letter on her behalf, Mr. Carter has not only sued me, but has attempted to bully and harass me and this accuser.
‘His behavior has had the opposite effect. She is encouraged. I am very proud of her determination. “As to the allegations in the filed complaint, we will let the filing speak for itself and litigate the facts in court, not in the media.”
Buzbee told it too The New York Times in an email that he followed proper “legal practice” in “sending a basic litigation letter” to Jay-Z and his camp.
The lawyer said he was trying to have a “confidential conversation” with the rapper to protect his client’s identity.
“We will not get bogged down in a silly sideshow that tries to put the lawyers at the center of very serious allegations against a courageous woman,” Buzbee told the newspaper.
Knowles-Carter was certainly sledding — he performed a 15-minute, eight-song medley during the football game in which the Baltimore Ravens absolutely defeated the Houston Texans 31-2
Roger Goodell said at a December 11 press conference: “We are aware of the civil allegations and Jay Z’s strong response to them. We know, of course, that lawsuits are underway. But from our point of view, our relationship with them does not change, including our preparations for the next Super Bowl.”
Jay-Z, 55, responded to DailyMail.com, accusing the victim of trying to “blackmail” him, saying he feared his three children with Beyoncé would have to “endure” harassment in the wake of the allegations.
The rapper said he is especially concerned about 12-year-old Blue Ivy. He is afraid that she will receive questions from her friends about the lawsuit. The couple also share twins Rumi and Sir, seven.
“My only heartbreak is with my family,” Jay-Z told DailyMail.com on Sunday.
“My wife and I will have to sit down our children, one of whom is at the age when her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.”
Jay-Z said he was mourning “yet another loss of innocence” and stated that his “children should not have to endure the explicit accusations at a young age.”
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who hired Jay-Z in 2019 as entertainment strategist for live music during the halftime show, addressed the rape allegations during a Dec. 11 news conference.
“We are aware of the civil allegations and Jay-Z’s strong response to them,” he said. ‘We know, of course, that there are lawsuits going on.
“But from our standpoint, our relationship with them doesn’t change, including our preparations for the next Super Bowl.”
Jay-Z also serves as executive producer of the halftime show, having been instrumental in choosing Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in 2020, The Weeknd in 2021, Dr. Dre in 2022, Rihanna in 2023, Usher in 2024 and Kendrick Lamar in 2025.
