Jay Leno rolls around LA in his Tesla Cybertruck… 11 months after bone-breaking motorcycle crash that followed terrifying car fire

Jay Leno, who has long been known for his love of cars and his extensive car collection, was in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The 73-year-old icon was spotted driving around the city late at night in his Tesla Cybertruck, the latest edition of which had an estimated base price of $60,990.

However, the comic features an older version of the Cybertruck, a version he showed in a 2020 episode of his show Jay Leno's Garage with Elon Musk as his guest.

This week, Jay proved that his affection for the Cybertruck hasn't waned, taking the massive device into town to run a few errands.

His outing comes 11 months after he broke his collarbone in a motorcycle accident – an incident that in turn occurred two months after he was burned in a motorcycle fire.

In November 2022, Jay Leno was working in his garage on one of his retro cars when a 1907 steam engine blew up in his face.

He suffered third-degree burns and had to spend ten days in hospital, where he was treated in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

Just two days after he was fired, Jay was proudly back in the saddle, bombing around Los Angeles in another of his vintage cars.

However, disaster struck again in January when Jay suffered a motorcycle accident that broke his collarbone, two ribs, and tore both kneecaps.

He told the Las Vegas Review-Journal he was 'on a leash' when he drove into a wire drawn across a parking lot without a flag.

A week after his accident, Jay suffered another setback when news broke that his CNBC series about his cars had been canceled.

He said in May Page six he did 'well' during his recovery from his injuries and said his enthusiasm for motorcycling was as great as ever.

Even his wife Mavis, who married him in 1980, loves his hobby. “As long as it's not cocaine and girlfriends, she'll be fine, trust me,” he joked.

Jay insisted he wasn't looking for sympathy, pointing out his celebrity status: “People love to see rich people on fire.”

The New Rochelle-born entertainer noted, “Look, if you're in my position, if you're a celebrity, you're luckier than most people.”

He said: 'So when something bad happens to you, you can't whine and complain about it, because bad things happen to people every day – they get burned or they get cut back – and they don't have the financial resources that I had. .'

Jay, on the other hand, will “just joke” and add that “it's Hollywood. As long as you look okay, you're okay. No one really cares how you feel.”
