Jay Leno drops off treats for Writers Guild of America strikers after saying he won’t retire

Jay Leno was seen Friday delivering treats for the Writers Guild of America strikers.

The 73-year-old car enthusiast – who regularly hands out pizzas to the striking writers – seemed fully recovered from his recent mishaps as he left the Walt Disney studios in his Cunningham Roadster.

The former late-night talk show host wore a blue button-up shirt as he delivered two boxes of snacks to strikers holding signs at the entrance to Disney studios.

The strike is an ongoing labor dispute between the writers’ union, which represents approximately 11,500 writers, and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

Standout writers have received support from celebrities such as Drew Barrymore, who retired from her hosting duties at the MTV Movie and TV Awards, and Pete Davidson, who handed out pizza to those on the New York picket line in May.

Members of the Writers Guild of America went on strike in Los Angeles and New York on May 2 for the first time in 15 years after their current contracts expired.

The biggest points of contention in the negotiations are a higher wage floor and more residual payments from streaming shows.

The writers want protection against mini-rooms, in which two or three writers, working for base pay, write out a significant portion of a series before it gets the go-ahead.

They also want protection against the use of artificial intelligence.

Leno is still on the mend after his recent car fire and motorcycle accident, though he has no intention of slowing down.

Leno recently attended the premiere of NBC’s Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge this weekend.

Leno revealed on the red carpet that he still has no plans to retire, though one thing could change that: “unless I have a stroke.”

The revelation comes just five months after his motorcycle accident in January, in which he suffered “a broken collarbone, two broken ribs and two broken kneecaps.”

Yet Leno revealed last week that his condition has already improved so much that he doesn’t even do physical therapy anymore.

The comedian – reportedly worth more than $450 million – joked: “People like to see rich people set on fire.”

“As long as you look good, you’re okay. No one really cares how you feel. Show business is fleeting,” Leno admitted.

“As long as it’s not cocaine and girlfriends, she’s fine—trust me,” Jay joked.
