Jay Leno has broken her clavicle, two ribs and both kneecaps in a motorcycle accident, just two months after suffering devastating burns when a steam engine exploded in her face.

The 72-year-old comedian was riding an antique motorcycle in Las Vegas on Jan. 17 when he stopped in a parking lot and was struck by a piece of wire that was dangling in the road without a sign above it.

His CNBC car show was also canceled this week, adding to a series of misfortunes for Leno.

told the Las Vegas Review Magazine: ‘Just last week, I was thrown off the motorcycle. So I have a broken clavicle. I have two broken ribs. I have two broken kneecaps.

‘But I’m fine! I’m fine, I’m working. I am working this weekend.

Leno was critically injured after crashing a vintage motorcycle on January 17, just two months after suffering severe burns when an engine exploded in his face. He appears in a promotional photo for his CNBC series Jay Leno’s Garage, which was scrapped this week, adding to the star’s bad luck.

“I turned down a side street and through a parking lot and unknown to me, some guy had a wire hanging out in the parking lot but no flag hanging from it.

‘So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. He just threw my clothes and boom, he threw me off the bike.

The crash is the second serious accident for Leno in as many months, adding to a streak of bad luck that has also caused his CNBC auto show to be removed. CNBC removed his series Jay Leno’s Garage this week, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Leno suffered devastating burns to his face after the engine of a vintage steam car he was working on exploded.

The iconic TV host and his friend Dave Killackey were working on one of their beloved vintage cars at their Los Angeles mansion on November 12 when their 1907 White Steam Car burst into flames.

Leno credits his friend Killackey with saving his life. Killackey sprang into action and wrapped his arms around Leno, dousing the fire.

Leno was rushed to the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital in Los Angeles, where he received treatment for third-degree burns and spent 10 days receiving treatment.

Describing that incident in an earlier interview, Leno said, “The fuel line was clogged, so I was under it.” It seemed clogged and I said, “Blow some air through the line,” and so it did:

‘And all of a sudden, boom, my face was full of gas. And then the pilot flame went up and my face caught fire.

Shocking photos of Leno’s injuries from the explosion show that his face was covered in excruciating burns, and his entire face had to be wrapped in bandages.

Dr. Peter Grossman told NBC News that Leno suffered “relatively severe” burns to “about seven percent of his body,” including his face, chest and hands.

He performed skin grafts on the star, removing the burned skin and replacing it with skin from a skin bank. She noted that “much of the thickness of the skin was injured.”

Leno said his most recent accident will not prevent him from working, and he is scheduled to headline a comedy show at the Encore Theater for the first time on March 31.

Jay Leno’s Garage, which he has hosted since 2014, was canceled this week.

The show, filmed at Jay Leno’s Big Dog Garage in Burbank, is described as “a star-studded, action-packed exploration of all things automotive.”

The seventh and final season debuted in September 2022, though neither CNBC nor Leno have yet commented on the cancellation.
